”Matt? Hey, man.. Can you do me a favor? I need a ride..” Blah blah blah phone call phone call oh shit this is the second sentence of my post I can’t be informal yet hold up, do over, let’s try this again. ”I’m at a bar. It’s.. aw shit I don’t remember.. It’s like a street past that place you always get pizza from… Thanks.” It took him two tries to hang up the phone the right way before shoving it back in his pocket. If it wasn’t obvious by this point, Nash had had a few drinks. It wasn’t a regular thing that happened all the time, but it wasn’t the first time it had happened either. While Nash wasn’t a big fan of the party scene, he occasionally liked the enjoy his adulthood and lets be real here, after three years of living in a room with ten army guys, the fact that he enjoyed a good drink should hardly be surprising. At the same time, Nash never kept alcohol at his place because some people didn’t know how to knock or not be nosy and he really didn’t trust any of his pack mates with it. Emma could be to curious for her own good and April would do anything if it meant breaking rules and getting on his nerves and Matt.. okay, Nash actually trusted Matt not to be an idiot with this one. (Yeah, I know, whoa, shocker. It’s one thing- get over it.) But anyway, the point here was that on the occasions Nash felt like drinking, he was doing it at a bar with people who were his own age and responsible for themselves.
Nash wasn’t really that drunk (being a shifter apparently came with a ridiculously high tolerance) but he wasn’t going to chance the drive home because he was generally a pretty responsible person, and besides not having any plans to break the law tonight, he wasn’t looking to get in an accident or anything on account of being stupid. Whatever town they were living in (I’m pretty sure it’s Forks like every other crazy non-human but I don’t remember so wherever they are) wasn’t very big, so having to wait for Matt to show up was hardly a big deal. Or it wouldn’t have been if not for all the problems that were going to happen because of this like ten minute wait. It wasn’t Nash’s fault. The guys were being assholes. It wasn’t Nash’s first time at a bar. Of course, per usual when surrounded by drunk people, there were always a few assholes who had to go and start trouble. Nash normally didn’t make a habit of getting up in other people’s business, but in this case it was pretty obvious that the group of guys were just being bullies and Nash wasn’t cool with that. So he got up and went to find out what their problem was. Of course, he didn’t just ask what their problem was, because that would be extremely filtered and lacking obnoxiousness. He told them what their problem was. Or at least what he thoguth it was, which was obviously the right answer.
For some reason, the assholes didn’t really like being made to look like fools (of course, they didn’t really needed Nash’s help for that) so it didn’t take too long before one of them swung a punch. Now, in complete honesty, despite the fact that I will claim over and over again that this fight was in no way Nash’s fault, lets just take a moment to go back (stupid move they show you in school about why violence is bad style) and think about the choices Nash made, which might have contributed to the fight starting. Nash didn’t have to approach the cocky drunk gang (he could have waited for Matt outside), he didn’t have to insult them (repeatedly) to make his point (there were admittedly nicer ways to tell someone they were a spineless shitfaced bastard), and he probably could have gone without bashing this one guy’s nose into a table… Oh yeah, I forgot that part. That guy who punched him? He was going to need a doctor for that nose. It didn’t look too good. Of course by the time Nash had finished with him his other friends had gotten with a picture and that kind of screwed up the odds a little bit (or a lot.. drunk Nash was a little over confident) At some point after some bottle throwing and knocking bar stools around happened it can be assumed that one of the people who worked there called the cops but Nash was unaware of this because, yanno, slightly preoccupied dealing with drunk assholes.

Matt? Hey, man..Can you do me a favor? I need a ride.. It wasn’t the first time Matt had gotten a phone call from Nash from a bar. He didn’t mind it in the least bit—I mean if Nash was going to drink Matt didn’t want him being stupid and driving himself around. It just would have been helpful if Nash would like write down where he was the second he got into a bar so we didn’t have a Cal-Blake-esque ‘yea, man, I’m by the tree’ problem. I’m at a bar. Matt rolled his eyes, though Nash did end up being slightly more helpful with his directions in identifying the bar he was at. Nash was just lucky Matt couldn’t make himself food because if he could that pizza place wouldn’t be considered such a landmark. He told Nash he’d be right there, hung up, and turned to Emma. ”Em, gotta go pick Nash up.” Emma had been hanging out at Matt’s because Matt was clearly more fun than April and so that’s how this whole ordeal turned into a three-person-thing. They got in the car (Matt was driving because it was dark and there was only so much he could take while Emma was driving—darkness excluded) and went to the pizza place and then Matt slowed down so he could look around for the bar. Once he found it, Matt asked Emma to call Nash as he pulled into the lot. When Nash didn’t answer, Matt sent him a text. He waited about fifteen minutes before deciding to go in after him. He could’ve been passed out or something. That would’ve surprised Matt if he was (Nash wasn’t usually that irresponsible) but it was a possibility so Matt wanted to check it out. He looked at Emma unsure of his own idea. ”Well, he’s not answering. We could go get him…” They’d have to sneak in through some back door…but Matt figured they’d only be in there for a minute so it wouldn’t be a big deal. Unbeknownst to him, someone decided to start a bar fight and the police had been called, so they had perfect timing. They’d gotten in just in time to see Nash in the middle of a fight before police came in, and Matt and Emma didn’t exactly look like they were twenty one. They got caught pretty quickly and apparently the police were in a pissy mood because they didn’t even get the ‘get out and don’t do it again’ talk. They were getting arrested. That night got exciting quickly.

When she wasn’t doing more important things like work or school, she spent her time with him. He was more exciting with April. And he didn’t hate her or at least didn’t show it as much as April did. She was chilling on his couch, waiting for him to put on a movie or something. When his cell phone rang and it happened to be Nash. The girl watched as he picked up the phone and waited for a few seconds before tuning in her super hearing to listen to the conversation. So Nash was drunk, at a bar, and in need of a ride? Nothing really surprised Emma anymore when it came to her pack mates. Before Matt even hung up the phone, Emma was already putting her shoes on and opening the front. “Way ahead of you Matt,” Emma grinned at him before running to the car. After a few minutes of arguing Matt convinced Em that he should drive. Much to her disappointment. But that didn’t matter. They were about to go on an adventure! The way there Emma obviously went on many irrelevant rants that included her learning how to drive more often and how he owed her a movie night. Of course is wasn’t Matt’s fault that Nash needed a ride and technically Emma just showed up at his house announced today anyways. But that’s not how Emma saw it. Once the bar was in view Emma was instructed to call Nash. It went to voice mail.
“Nashville! This is Emma, we are here. Sitting in the parking lot of the bar you told us you were at. I hope you aren’t causing trouble or passed out somewhere. That would be awful. Hey! If you aren’t sick or anything we should totally pick up some pizza. But that’s up to you; you will be the one with the bodily functions going awry. Please call me…or Matt when you get this message. Also next time you should really just stay at home or come to Matt’s house with me. We can make popcorn and watch movies! I know it’s not the same as drinking but----Hey the voice mail cut me off!” Emma exclaimed a little offended by the machine. She looked over at Matt saw that he was already sending a text. One he probably started the moment she began ranting about pizza. They sat there for fifteen minutes, where Emma yet again suggested they should get pizza if Nash was up for it. She really wanted pizza. It was just right there! And finally Matt spoke up. “Okay! Let’s go!” Emma cheered and bounced out of the car. She followed her alpha around the back and snuck in just like he did. She glanced around the bar in amazement. So this is what she has to look forward to when she turned 21! Well it was an experience and definitely not something she has seen before. Well she’s seen them on TV, in movies, and on YouTube. But never in real life.
Emma heard so yelling when she turned around and saw a bar fight. “Hey there’s Nash! And…hey! That guy is hitting Nash with a chair!” Before Matt or anybody could really stop her, Emma was grabbing the nearest bar stool and joining the fray. She whacked the guy with the chair over his head with a great amount of force to knock him out. She smiled proudly before someone grabbed her from behind. Before she could fight some more the police had arrived and in all their pissy glory. Things quickly escalated when the police arrive. Before the cops even laid a hand on her, Emma quickly elbowed her captor in the groin before running over to Nash. It was then the police had caught her. And proceeded to arrest her, Nash, Matt, and everybody else involved. Well then! Emma began spewing out apologies to the two people she attacked and promised to bake them cookies later. Even though she would probably never see them again. And suddenly she was in the back of a cop car with Nash and Matt on her way to the police station. “Well that was fun. Though I feel a little bad for knocking that guy out. And I probably bruised that other one’s groin. Think he’ll take some cookies and an apology card. I didn’t mean to hit him so hard. I was just caught up in the moment. Actually the guy with the chair actually did deserve that one so he gets no cookies, just a card. Maybe I can slip my therapist’s number in the cards for them; they really should look into changing their attitudes.” Emma nodded at the end of her rant like she came to the conclusion that she was actually going to go through with all of that. Em ignored the weird looks she was getting from the cops and glanced out the window. Maybe was not the time to admit her crimes though it wasn’t like she could lie. They did catch her in a bar while being underage. The whole fighting thing was probably just a small detail for record at this point.

Despite being outnumbered Nash was a pretty good fighter so holding his own really wasn’t an issue. He had a cut above one of those eyes and a couple of bruises but he figured he looked pretty good compared to the other guys. And he certainly wasn't worried. After getting hit with the chair once Nash grabbed the legs when they swung at him and was trying to shove it back at his face when all of a sudden the guy who he'd ben fighting fell to the ground. ”Nice one, Em!” Nash got to his feet and turned around to deal with one of the other assholes before realizing exactly who had just knocked the guy out and why that was such a problem. ”Emma!” She was definitely not supposed to be there. He looked around to see if Matt was inside too (He was. Great) and so were a bunch of cops and obvious this situation had gone to shit pretty fast. After taking care of another drunk Emma ran back to him and Nash shot a glare at the guy who she’d just elbowed, very clearly warning him that if he touched Emma again it would be the last thing he ever did. Were they not surrounded by police it probably would have been more than just a warning, but it wasn’t more than a few seconds before they were all being rounded up and taken outside the bar. Nash pulled and Indiana Jones and grabbed his hat quickly off the floor before being ushered out, and put in the back of a cop car with Matt and Emma. I’d say that it was a coincidence that of all the arrested people they ended up together but really any half intelligent cop would know to group the people in a way so that nobody would be trying to kill each other on the way to the station. So they’d been in the police car like two seconds and Emma had started ranting about how she needed to bake cookies and apologize to the guys she’d hurt. ”Em, we’re never gonna see ‘em again.” Nash could have gone and explained how these were not the type of guys who would appreciate cookies and they probably would be pretty pissed off to see them again whatever the circumstance – but this was easier and probably more likely to make sense in Emma’s world where everything was all sunshine and rainbows. ”Not that they couldn’t use some therapy.. Maybe we’ll go slip them those cards after all.” He laughed at the thought (their reactions would be priceless ) and then eyed Matt, ”Y’alright?” The guy was being too quiet. It was no secret Matt was the most normal of the three of them (and definitely the most paranoid) so Nash had a sort of obligation to make sure he was okay, given the fact that this probably wasn’t what he’d signed up for when he said he’d give him a ride.

Well Emma was in a good enough mood, agreeing with everything that was going on and making the best of it. Not that Matt expected any different from her. He'd chuckled at her when she left the voice mail though by that point Matt had already grown slightly apprehensive (because that's what he does he's good at worrying about things and prides himself in that skill). When he decided to go into the bar he was just sort of hoping Nash wasn't passed out (he'd been pretty sure Nash was because he didn't just decide not to pick up the phone when Matt called him) though Emma seemed fine with it so for like four seconds Matt wasn't too worried about it. Though it didn't take long for that to get ruined because before Matt could grab Emma, she was in the middle of the fight as well. Now, as I've hopefully made clear to you, Matt would readily run in and kill some people for Nash and Emma, however he also required like thirty seconds of processing time and that was not exactly a luxury he was currently convenienced with. Before he even knew what was happening Nash was pissing some drunk people off and Emma was going crazy and Matt was 'are you serious?'ing as the cops came in (don't expect help from the kid under pressure).
They all got shoved into a cop car and yea, Matt was pretty quiet. Emma was going on about how she felt bad for punching people and Nash was going along with it so it sounded like the two of them were more than capable of carrying out the ridiculous conversation on their own before Nash dragged Matt in. Y'alright? "Yeuuuup, just...in a cop car." It was evident that the kid was still pretty nervous but he grinned as he spoke. He really just couldn't believe they'd gotten arrested. "Dude, it's like a fifteen minute drive. What happened?" How Nash had managed to get himself involved in a fight between the time he'd called Matt and the time Matt had driven over he did not understand. Matt then shot Emma a look, clearly using this as his ranting time. "You okay, Crazy?" He was joking around trying to stay composed but he really did want to know if they were both okay because they were crazy people and had just been in a bar fight.

I never thought I was going to get in a bar fight but I did. Of course I was going to fight eventually in my life. Based on the world around us and our home situation, it was bound to happen. I just never thought it would be in a bar. And I was wrong. So you never know, we could see them again. And if we do I want to have apology cards along with some cookies at hand.” Emma ranted in the most Emma-like manner. It was true though, most kids her age fought for stupid reasons and from stupid emotions. Then when you mix in the whole shifter-rage thing, it was a wonder the girl didn’t get into a fight before this. Of course it was Emma and getting her angry was like trying to balance a light switch between on and off. Impossible. The girl didn’t get angry. She wasn’t angry when she attacked the guy. All she saw was that Nash was getting hurt and she needed to help. Really it didn’t take her long to process that and act accordingly. Unlike some people. And obviously she didn’t elaborate further about this whole while in the back of a cop car. Humans weren’t supposed to know about shifters and all that good stuff. Though she probably should have left out the fact that her getting into a fight was bound to happen thing. But this was Emma and as stated many times, she has no filter. “My therapist was an excellent man. Very patient and great listener. I think I’ll go bake him cookies later as well and send them to him. Do you, officers, want any cookies? You know for all the trouble we caused, even though it is your job. Though arresting two under age kids doesn’t seem appropriate. It’s not like we had any priors, a warning would have sufficed. Nonetheless, great police work!” Okay so there were many things you shouldn’t say to an officer when you are arrested and correcting them on their job was one of those things. Of course Emma was being genuine about her compliment and the cookie thing. She always was. Em rarely used sarcasm and when she did use it, it was normally in the comfort of Matt’s home. Because obviously she wouldn’t use it in her own home where April was.
Matt was right though, it only took fifteen minutes for them to get in the car and find the car. Probably less actually since they knew exactly where to go and Emma didn’t really put up a fight about going to pick Nash up. She turned her head towards Nash and Matt, waiting for Nash to explain himself. Which he better do quickly because the girl could only stay silent for so long. And it doesn’t help when someone asks her a question. “I’m perfectly fine. I helped defend my friend in a fight, while learning that I am pretty capable of fighting. I would say the situation is pretty satisfactory. Really we did nothing wrong, we were just defending ourselves using our bodies instead of words. To be honest it seemed like the perfect solution, everybody was too drunk to reason with in there anyways.” Emma shrugged like it was no big deal (while ignoring her semi-bruising on her shoulders). To her it wasn’t. It was all perfectly logical what they did. And it was perfectly logical that they got arrested. There was no point fighting it or getting upset about it. Sure Emma was going to have a mark on her record now but come on, it was Emma. She was too nice to not be liked by people, not to mention none of them would actually think she would get into a fight. Just looking at her, you would assume she would scream and watch the fight from the sidelines. The girl was full of surprises. Em smiled sweetly at Matt and leaned over Nash, putting her hand on Matt’s shoulder. Something she was told comforted people, it always worked when people did it to her. “Calm down, Matt. We’ll be out in no time and now you have an awesome story to tell.” She let go of Matt and quickly leaned back in her seat, ignoring the weird looks from the officers in front of them.
They had finally reached the station where they were escorted out of the car and processed through the system. The whole time Emma kept glancing at Matt and Nash, making sure they were okay. Honestly the ONLY thing this girl was freaking out about was them. While in her mind everything was okay, Nash was still physically marked up and Matt was freaking out. It took about ten minutes for them to each be process and all that fun stuff before they finally reached their cell. Surprisingly they didn’t bother to separate the three of them, even after that car ride. Once in the cell, the handcuffs came off and officers were no longer in site. Emma knew by this point Matt was probably going to fly off the handle so she turned her attention to Nash. “It looks like you are healing quickly; you will look good in no time! Though I hope the cops don’t notice in the morning.” Yea, the whole healing thing was a pretty dead giveaway that Nash wasn’t normal. Luckily Emma had no visible marks, though she did feel a bruise or two on her shoulder where the guy grabbed her. Nothing to worry about though, they would be healed in no time.

In typical Emma fashion, Nash was provided with a very statistical explanation as to why they might end up seeing the guys they’d been fighting again.. and should therefore have cookies at the ready. ”Youre right. Anything could happen. Maybe we will see them again. After pigs fly. And Matt asks to go bungee jumping.” Because those were all likely to happen in the near future. Obviously. Unlike Emma, Nash was very capable of being sarcastic, especially when he was drunk and irritated, which was the case at the moment. Nash really didn’t think the fight was a good enough reason for them all to have gotten arrested. This Emma and him did agree on, though Nash avoided sighing when Emma started talking to the cops. Ninety percent of the time.. honesty was the best policy, but the other ten percent.. that was smooth talking, and definitely not telling cops they were doing their jobs wrong (especially when they had just broken the law). In effort to keep Emma from getting herself in any more trouble accidentally, Nash changed the subject once she ended on a high. ”So when do Matt and I get cookies for doing a good job?” He grinned at her, letting her know she was joking (although, really, Emma was making everyone else on the planet cookies, they definitely better be getting some).
Emma seemed to be taking the whole thing pretty well, so Nash turned his attention to Matt. ”Yeuuup just.. in a cop car.” Well, good to know his processing skills were up to their usual standards. Apparently, Nash owed the two of them a little explanation as to how he’d managed to get himself involved in a fight in the fifteen minutes it had taken them to get to the bar. He smirked at Matt’s exasperation. ”A couple of guys had too much to drink and started dicking around.” Nash knew they didn’t frequent the bar scene but he figured they knew the type= highstrung cocky little shits. Nash wasn’t the right person to dick around with. ”I took ‘em down a few pegs and they got pissed off they couldn’t come up with any good comebacks. Thought they’d be get the point across if we fought.” Nash was the smart ass tough guy with no back up. He’d have wanted to fight himself to prove a point too. Anyway, that was the story – his version anyway, though he hadn’t made anything up. Matt turned his interrogation on to Emma, who as had already been stated, was taking this very well. She leaned over Nash to put her hand on Matt’s shoulder and Nash rolled his eyes good naturedly when she was done talking. ”Alright, alright, you had your moment. Anything else waits until I’m not sitting between you guys.”
It didn’t take them much longer to get to the station and take care of all the technicalities that came with being arrested. Luckily they didn’t have to fight much to get to stay together (it was a very small jail there weren’t many places to put people) so they three of them ended up alone in a cell and Emma brought up a pretty good point. Nash brought his hand up to confirm that things actually were healing much faster than they realistically should have been (he wasn’t really complaining) although, they needed to make sure that went unnoticed by others because.. well they were supposed to be keeping things secret according to the paranoid person who still wasn’t talking. ”Can’t imagine that they paid too much attention.” he replied, dismissing the concern before Matt could make a big deal about it. Matt was already t minus two minutes from flying off the handle so Nash really didn’t want to give him anything else to think about.

So while Emma and Nash had an extremely important conversation about giving cookies to drunk assholes, Matt impressively remained somewhat composed. He wasn’t being a very interesting person however—his attention mostly fixed on his window before Nash said his name. After pigs fly. And Matt asks to go bungee jumping. ”That’s not even a valid circumstance. Bungee jumping is ridiculous and not fun and suicidal. Pigs flying is much more likely.” He sort of just muttered it without even thinking about what he was saying but the comment did distract him momentarily. And then of course the next comment would have been enough to wake him up if he was unconscious. ”Cookies?” Matt was starving. It didn’t matter what mood you caught him in—he’d always go back to being Matt when it came to food. Yeah—they had better been getting some cookies. They held priority over other people Emma had volunteered to bake for. They should have been first in line for cookies. More specifically the significant other who required food every two minutes should have been first in line. Nash was like a military person anyway and cookies would make him look soft. Of course none of this was said out loud because Matt was never nervous and genuinely sarcastic at the same time. When Nash started to explain Matt nodded, understanding that it wasn’t his fault. He hadn’t even blamed Nash in the first place but hearing the story made Matt more aggravated with the assholes who had started it. ”I’m a little impressed with your time but you don’t need to prove that you can do it again.” And then for the first time since the whole ridiculous incident had happened the guy was a lot more comfortable. Yeah, that shoulder thing was like magic it was crazy. He grinned back at Emma before contorting it into a smirk. ”If you’re jealous, I can give you some affection.” Yeup, he was feeling better. That lasted…until they got inside. They were put into a cell (and I think the fact that they are all miraculously in the same one has been mentioned twice already so I’m not going to do that here) and Matt moved toward Emma before sitting on the floor against the wall. He didn’t even think about the healing thing being a problem until they brought it up. Then it seemed like the biggest problem in the world. I’m surprised someone had said Matt had about two minutes because he was going on about four seconds. ”Dammit they saw somebody is going to see somebody saw.” He leaned his head back in frustration. ”Somebody saw and someone is going to find out and I am hungry.” I personally blame the cookie conversation for that but hey that’s just me.

Like seriously, Matt bungee jumping? That was never going to happen. Though bungee jumping did sound like fun. And Matt of course mumbled something that only confirmed what Emma just thought. “Bungee jumping would be so much fun!” Emma chimed in, clearly skipping over the whole apology sarcasm thing. “Nash, can you take me bungee jumping?” Yes she addressed Nash with that question because Matt made it clear where he stood on that subject. But come on, taking Emma on such an adventure would be a once in a life time kind of thing. Nash would clearly have fun with her and the activity. Matt could come to but he would have to do it also. He couldn’t just sit there and watch. Come on if his tiny little girlfriend, who is a year younger than him, can do it than so could he. Then again despite all the cute rants and spastic moments, Em was pretty bad ass. She did things that she thought would be fun and she tended to do things without thinking a lot. Though not as much as saying things without thinking. That was definitely something she did more so over physically doing crazy things. “You guys want cookies too?” It didn’t really cross her mind that they should get some. She was more focused on making it up to the guy she knocked out. Not to mention it wasn’t like she didn’t bake them things on a daily basis. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to leave you guys out. You’ll be the first to get cookies! I promise!” Yes they were the first ones on her list for cookies. They would get it at the same time because Emma was not going to cause problems by choosing one over the other. Em did not play favorites when it came to baking. Sure when it came to other things like music, Nash was her favorite. Driving, Matt was her favorite. Going out on dates with…well that one was obvious.
Emma listened to Nash’s story with wide eyes. She was trying to picture everything that he was saying. And everything in her mind was in squirrel cartoon form. So yea, Nash is now a squirrel in her head. And he is ridiculously adorable! Emma let out an audible squeak in the middle of Nash’s explanation as she picture squirrel Nash. Hopefully the boys didn’t hear her thought. “It sounds perfectly logical Nash. Clearly the drunkards wouldn’t listen to reason, so fighting was the next step. I understand,” Emma stated sincerely after Matt and Nash spoke with each other. It seemed perfectly logical. Reason is usually the first thing that goes out the window when one drinks. So nobody would have been able to scold the other men and get their point across effectively. She grinned at Matt when she watched him calm down. She was glad that that small gesture was able to help because Em was really at a loss for what to actually do. And then Nash interrupted their tenderly cute moment. The girl rolled her eyes at Nash and then let out a laugh after Matt responded to him. “Aw Nash, don’t be jealous!” Emma stated before putting her head on his shoulder. “Like Matt said he could give you affection if you want some. I heard lack of affection could cause psychological damage to people. But I don’t think you are that psychologically damaged, so you have nothing to worry about.” Let’s remember that the girl was not being mean but just being Emma. And she’s just looking out for Nash’s mental state.
And just like that Nash was already brushing off Emma’s concerns. Though she understood why he would do that. Really shouldn’t have brought it up knowing that an emotional bomb was sharing a cell with them. Of course his breezy attitude did not help at all because Matt was starting to go off. Em walked over and sat down next to Matt. “You don’t know that, Matt. Like Nash said they probably weren’t even paying attention. They have too much on their plates with the whole bar fight and random animal attacks that clearly aren’t animal attacks. There’s nothing to worry about.” Emma was for once stopping herself from elaborating on the mug shots that were taken. For once the girl actually stopped herself. It was a once in a lifetime thing, don’t expect it to happen again. She gazed at Matt with a worried look, the girl didn’t like him freaking out. Even though he did it almost on a daily basis. She leaned against him and put her head on his shoulder. “I’ll cook you a thanksgiving dinner when we get out of here. I promise. It’s just a matter of getting out of here. Really I have seen the shows and paid attention in school, they can keep us up to 72 hours. So who knows how long we’ll be here. It’s not like we can break out of here or something.” Emma was just rambling, attempting to make him feel better. She was not suggesting anything. She was just being Emma, let’s get that straight right now.

Emma would be one of those people who took Nash's totally sarcastic statement seriously and made an idea out of it (sounds like Ally and Me).. Not that Nash had any problem with that. He'd been wanting to try anyway. "Sure thing… Sure you don't wanna come Matt?" Because.. they were basically going to drag him whether or not he wanted to go. They were nice people like that. Well, Nash was. As can be seen in another thread right now. Emma actually felt guilty when freaking Matt out. Nash just figured.. eh, happened on a daily basis anyway. "Oh now you're listening," he teased Matt when he perked up at the sound of food. "Don't worry about it Em." he laughed when she started apologizing. For a ride in a cop car things were going pretty smoothly. Even Matt wasn't like.. completely exploding so it could have been a lot worse. "I'm a little impressed with your time but you don't need to prove that you could do it again." "Dully noted." Nash drew the words out, it was the closest thing to an apology he was giving. As everyone agreed, it hadn't been his fault, so he was more annoyed than anything. But he knew he needed to let it go around the cops because he wanted to do this the right way. Not that hard what with the obnoxiousness surrounding him. "If you're jealous I can give you some affection." "Nah, yanno, I think I can hold out." "..I don't think you are that psychologically damaged so you have nothing to worry about." "That psychologically damaged, huh?" he questioned jokingly. "How psychologically damaged am I then?" And then the obnoxiousness was over because they were in the jail cell and Matt was exploding.. Well hey, he'd lasted longer than Nash had expected. "Dammit they saw somebody is going to see somebody saw." Well that made.. sense. "Chill out.. They're not medical experts or anything. If they did notice we'll just tell them I heal fast, or it was someone else's blood or something." That one didn't seem like too big an issue to Nash and Emma made a good point about all the other things the local police had to deal with. The two of them sat down in the corner and Nash paced around, looking out the bars to see what the cops were up to as Emma talked about food and getting out of there. "They can hold us twenty-one hours without charge. You two haven't drunk, there's no real reasons you shoulda been anything but kicked outta the bar. They won't release minors on their own though…" He smirked hopelessly. "So unless you think April's likely to show up.." Yup, Nash already knew that wasn't going to be an option. "I dunno Em, what do you say we get out of here ourselves?" Breaking out wouldn't be too hard. Nash was already trying to figure out the best way to go about it.. yeah.. because there were options. For the record, it's not like Nash was a fan of breaking laws or anything. But in this case, there really weren't any other options. Still, it was up to Paranoid and Hyperactive because it was their skins on the line.

They just got arrested and they were talking about bungee jumping. This was ridiculous. ”I am not going bungee jumping.” Just to make that clear. I mean he was going to get dragged there either way but willingly, he wasn’t going. That’s clearly what he’d meant by that. They knew him well enough to know that, though. They also knew him well enough to know that food was the solution to all problems. ”Duh, I’m listening,” he said with a small smirk. You guys want cookies too? ”Yes.” Then Nash indicated that he wouldn’t go out purposely starting bar fights and Matt knew he hadn’t meant to get them into shit with him. It hadn’t been Nash’s fault—Matt got that. How psychologically damaged am I then? ”On a scale of one to ten? I’m gonna go with seven.’ Granted he was pretty sure that like three of those points came to existence the day Matt decided it was a good idea to ease Nash into the shifter thing by talking to him in his head. Then Matt started freaking out because…jail. ”Yeaaaa psychological damage? I’m a 9.86.” Nash wasn’t that bad. Matt was a bomb. Chill out… ”You chill out!” Okay so that wasn’t the best response because Nash was already doing that but he wasn’t really thinking about the words coming out of his mouth so deal with it. What Nash said had seemed reasonable enough but for some reason Matt couldn’t help but feel like it was just a horrible situation. Emma’s ranting distracted him slightly but when she laid her head on him and started talking about food he just laughed. ”That’s not even fair you guys can’t keep using food against me.” He didn’t want to admit that the freaking out wasn’t necessary. But she and Nash had to go and try to get him to calm himself. When they started talking about how long they’d be in there, well you might as well rewind like ten minutes because all the calming down was just thrown out the window. ”That’s too long. We cannot be here that long. They’ll catch on.” He didn’t even know how they’d know they were shifters. He just sort of felt like it was stapled to their foreheads. Plus like going that long without decent food or sleeping space wasn’t going to fly. Despite all that opposing staying in the cell… What do you say we get out of here ourselves? He raised an eyebrow. ”What are you saying?”

She looked at Matt, and smiled even bigger. “Then you will be the first one to get the cookies.” Matt was going to be the first one on her baking list now. He pretty much deserved it for putting up with her and Nash. Mostly her, she was kind of crazy and spastic. Actually both of them deserved cookies for putting up with her. She was a handful, as established with the next couple of statements about Nash and his brain damage. “I didn’t mean it like that, Nash! I just meant…that I love you.” First thing that came out of her, didn’t even reach her head. Emma wasn’t really sure where she was going with that but she felt bad for insulting him. Even though she was relatively sure he was just messing with her. And luckily Matt swooped in and gave him a better answer. Emma shook her head at their conversation and just let out a chuckle. And then…Matt started freaking out. A lot. “9.86? That’s a random number. Logical and reasonable, but extremely random.” Matt was at a 9.86 and Emma didn’t expect any less from him. And of course Nash was trying to calm him down just like Emma had tried. Of course Matt was still not calming down. Nash was right though they weren’t medical experts and they could easily pass it off as someone else’s wound. It was completely logical and should have calmed Matt down but it didn’t. ”You chill out!” So Emma did the next best thing, actually it wasn’t the next best thing. But it was the only thing she could think of in that moment and time. Emma raised her hand and slapped Matt right across the face. She quickly pulled her hand and jumped to her feet. “OHMYGOD! I’m so sorry Matt! Oh god, oh god…I’m sorry! It’s just…” She paused and then it all came back out in rush, an extreme rush. “April does it to me all the time to calm down. She says it normally works. I mean it hurts but it does work every now and then. Though I think she does it to make herself feel better. But I assure you that’s not what why I did it. It did not make me feel better. Oh god, oh god, now you hate me. Please don’t hate me!” Okay now Emma was the one freaking out. She took a deep breath to calm down and went to slowly sit back down next to Matt. She couldn’t believe she just did that. But talking wasn’t helping Matt. So she did the next thing she knew to do. Which she learned from April. Its April’s fault. All her fault. Yup, let’s go with that. She turned her attention to Nash, hoping the next thing he would say would calm her down. Which it did. Okay bringing up April again didn’t help but you know, she wasn’t going to show it to them. Matt wsa the one that needed to calm down. Not her. “Everything will be fine, Matt! It’s just a jail cell. It could be worse; we could be living in the Game of Thrones world. We would be put in the stocks or pulled through the crowd so they can throw rotten vegetables at us. Or executed…that happens a lot in the book series. And TV series, obviously.” Emma watched a lot of TV and Youtube. She would obviously know about Game of Thrones. And to be fair she had a point. Their situation could be much worse. And then Nash decided to mention a break out to Emma and Matt flipped out again. She glanced at her boyfriend once more, with a look that clearly read ‘I don’t want to slap you again but I will’. And yes she probably would, she would freak out again and feel uncomfortable about it once more. But if it worked the first time then she didn’t see what was wrong with doing it the second time. Em looked back at Nash. “Well I think breaking out of jail would be an extremely interesting experience. It’s not like they could actually do anything to us. We are supernatural beings, I’m pretty sure we can out run them. I’m in for a break out.” Emma grinned at Nash, not bothering to look at Matt who was probably giving her a crazed look.

"I am not going bungee jumping." Well if other threads in existence mean anything that is clearly a lie. However Nash and Emma were obviously going to need to ease Matt into the idea (by dragging him there without his knowledge) so he'd drop the subject for now. Nash was being slightly more considerate than normal since yanno, they were in a cop car (this consideration would wear out after matt's like eighth freak out spell) "I didn't mean it like that I just meant that… I love you." He laughed. "I'm pretty sure that those expressions are not synonymous" (yanno 'you have psychological damage' and 'I love you') "but I love ya too Em… Matt, you're cool sometimes." he smirked at the guy, messing with his hair obnoxiously. "Yeaaaa psychological damage? I'm a 9.86." "I'm not sure if that’s psychological damage as much as a personality defect." Of course Matt wasn't actually defective. Just, if he was a robot, they definitely would have taken him back to the store by now. "You chill out!" Apparently Em had kind of gotten the problem here too because before Nash could say anything she'd slapped Matt across the face. Nash covered his mouth to avoid laughing out loud. "Now if I did that you'd be all up with the snark."
So the two of them got Matt calm for.. well.. all of like twenty seconds before they discovered yet another problem. Which, admittedly, was a little bit of a problem. However, Emma also made a good (pointlessly optimistic, but good) point. "It could be worse; we could be living in the game of Thrones world." "It's true, that would be pretty bad. Though you've got to admit that was a pretty efficient legal system." Obviously Emma had gotten Nash to watch a few episodes of the show (Matt couldn't handle that shit) so he knew exactly what she was referring to. So, considering the fact that they weren't going to get executed (and were pretty much too amazing and badass (and supernatural) to get caught anyway) breaking out seemed easily like their best option. Well, some people's best. Nash looked back at Matt. "What are you saying?" "I think Emma explained it pretty well. But I'll give it a shot. Okay. This is a jail cell. We're in the jail cell. And we want to get out of the jail cell. And we're capable of getting out of the jail cell… So we're gonna do that. You just hang tight and move when we tell you too." Nash generally didn't count on Matt being calm enough to actually get though doing anything helpful (no offence) so he was pretty much giving the guy a simple job which was.. to sit quietly and not mess anything up.
