Magically, it was a beautiful, sunny day in Washington. Perfect for the beach. Sun shining, waves crashing, and many people seemed to be right in the action. Not exactly and opportune time to get in the water because it was still pretty close to freezing cold, but a good day to tan. And that's exactly what Julia wanted to do.
She searched through her closet to dig out her bright pink and white polka-dotted bikini. It had been put away last year, left untouched in the harshness of winter. Hmm, what else did she need? A towel...and some SPF 15 sun block. She didn't bother to buy 30 because she always wanted to get some color. Flip flops, sunglasses, and a few bottles of water were placed into her beach bag. Two bottles were actually water, and one was "lemonade". Jay saw no harm in having a little fun of her own at the beach.
First Beach wasn't walking distance from her apartment so she got in the car and drove to the parking lot. She found a spot close enough and put the car in park. There seemed to be quite a few cars in the lot, which she thought was perfect because that meant a higher chance of seeing/talking to some attractive guys at the beach. Maybe they'd be playing frisbee or volleyball. Either way, they were shirtless and hopefully hot and that's all she cared about on that subject.
Jay grabbed her bag and started walking. Thankfully it wasn't to humid out so she wouldn't feel like she was dying. She looked for a space to lay down her towel, but not too empty of a space because she still wanted to be noticed. She reached into her bag for a bottle. Which one would it be? Lucky her, it was the "lemonade". She undid the cap and took a long sip; a swig would be a little too obvious. Then she replaced it bag in her bag. She reached her spot, pulled out her towel and sat on it, and kicked her shoes off.
Taking another drink, she scoped out the area. It looked like some guys were about, none taking any notice of her yet, but she was hoping that would change. She loved shower sex after the beach, it was relaxing and fun. Before she laid down, she spread a thin layer of the sun screen across her body, getting her back the best she could. "Guess I'll lay on my back first," she said quietly to herself, since she couldn't reach too well. She tied her hair up and laid down. She never brought an iPod because she liked to hear her surroundings. The waves were relaxing and she never got to enjoy them often because the weather was hardly ever this nice. She also liked to hear the people around her and basically eavesdrop. The playful screaming was always annoying, but every now and then she'd catch an interesting conversation. What would she overhear this time? She was hoping to hear someone talking about going over to talk to her because she usually had one of two things on her mind. Booze and sex. She already had the booze, so she was only missing one thing; and it wasn't her tan.

It was a piece of crap but sometimes her Ipod actually brought joy to her. It was one of those times. The device said it was sunny and at least 68 out. Perfect weather for a shifter like her. Her unnatural body heat made it seem like 98 out there, so this was like perfect weather for her. Quinn did miss California every now and then, but she remembered how horrible she felt after shifting for the first time. Being out in actual 98 degree weather was like death to her. And while California was beautiful and filled with glorious beaches; it was nice to not feel like she was going to die during ‘summer’ time. So maybe moving up here wasn’t completely awful. The weather was manageable and her (along with her twin brother) were able to meet more shifters to help explain their situation a little better. The black haired beauty leapt to her feet and ran to her closet. Ripping the doors open enthusiastically, she glanced around at the open boxes in front of her. The siblings have probably been there for about a month and a half, and the girl hasn’t unpacked yet. The boxes that had her clothes were wide open and things were hanging out of them in disarray.
She grabbed one of the smallest boxes and dug through the clothes until she spotted one out of two bikinis she owned. Granted it wasn’t her favorite one, but Quinn didn’t feel like wasting any more daylight. She quickly changed into her beach attire, packed a beach bag of useful things, grabbed her converse, and headed towards the door. “Yo, Luke! I’m heading to the beach!” she hollered to her twin brother. It was one of the very rare times that Quinn was actually venturing out without her twin brother. They did nearly everything together. But Q knew Luke didn’t like the outdoors like she did, so there was no point in trying to drag him to the beach. She made her way down the steps of the apartment building and glanced down the street. People were out and about, which wasn’t surprisingly. A nice day like this was rare and smart people took advantage of it. Quinn adjusted her drawstring bag on her back and quickly made her way into the woods. The twins had a junky car they shared and Quinn wasn’t too proud to show it off. So she decided to take the trek to the beach by foot. It would technically be faster and a hell of lot more enjoyable.
Once she found a big enough tree, the girl stripped down and her clothes in the bag. Tying it tightly, she took a step back…taking a moment to admire her beautiful human figure. And within minutes she shifted into her even more beautiful wolf shape. She sniffed the air, finding the smell of the ocean, grabbed the bag with her mouth, and sprinted into the distance. Her paws pushed off the dirt hard. Twigs broke and leaves crumbled beneath her feet. It took merely minutes before she finally caught site of the beach. She dropped her bag and quickly shifted back into a human. It took a couple more minutes for her to get dressed and fix her image to her liking. Which wasn’t an impressive image to begin with. Quinn wasn’t a big girly girl. She had a light coat of eye makeup on and pulled her hair back into a semi-nice pony tail. But thanks to being a shifter she didn’t have to work hard at her looks anyways. Once her attire was good Quinn put her earplugs in and quickly found P!nk on her Ipod. The woman didn’t need to blast it since she had enhanced hearing and could pretty much hear it on the lowest volume. But she wanted to drown out her surroundings, so she blasted the playlist. The likelihood of her going deaf was basically nonexistent anyways.
She, once again, adjusted her bag to her back and made her way to the beach. She saw kids running around along with weary parents, a few misguided teens, and some shirtless guys. Yes the guys were in their own category. She chuckled and shook her head. Quinn wasn’t a sex addict or anything so she was able to control her hormones around the male species. Plus she found human males to be boring, especially after living with a shifter male for her whole. Granted the two of them were humans for the majority of their lives, Quinn still could not find another guy to keep up with her like her brother did. But the one thing she really wished she had right now…alcohol. She forgot to grab some on her way out. That didn’t mean she couldn’t find any around her. Obviously the misguided teens around the area would have some. She walked along the beach, listening to P!nk. The water went in steady waves, brushing up against the short every now and then. Within a few minutes, Quinn finally caught the scent of that sweet substance. She looked around and caught site of a brunette girl.
The other girl looked like someone she wouldn’t get along with on a normal basis. But Quinn was willing to attempt some kindness to get what she wanted. She took out one ear plug and walked up to the girl. “Mind if I join you?” Quinn asked, trying not to let her natural bitch tone show.

To Jay’s surprise, the voice she heard belonged to a girl. She tried to push the initial “ugh” from her mind. She didn’t need to have sex all the time or every day. Maybe a girl would be a nice change…Nah, not for sex. So what else would she possibly need a girl in her life for? A friend? Unlikely. She was getting ahead of herself, this woman just asked if she could join, and maybe Jay wouldn’t mind some company. Could it really be that bad? But what was this woman’s motive? On one hand, they could drink and check out guys together. On the other hand, maybe this girl was going to steal all the guys away from her. Maybe she had a brother though…
Julia lowered her sunglasses at her and gave a half-friendly smile, coming off half shy but half bitchy. “Not at all, have a seat,” she replied, looking away from her and put her sunglasses back on. Although Jay didn’t sway towards girls sexually whatsoever, she could appreciate the beauty of one. And this woman standing beside her was one of those “black-haired beauty” types of women; and she had a nice body to match. She noticed this girl had an iPod but she didn’t hear any music playing. Was this a tactic to hear other people’s conversations? If so, it was pretty brilliant, and the only reason Jay may not have thought of it was because she wanted to be approachable. But that’s strange that this girl approached her, when this girl was the one with the iPod. What did she want?
Jay patted the sand to the left of her and took another sip. Hmm…“You aren’t going to tell on me, are you?” she said, emphasizing the bottle. She didn’t so much bother playing the shy and innocent card on woman, especially with some alcohol in her. What was the point, what was the gain? That’s all she really looked at in life. Weighing pros and cons, how much effort to get how much gain. She wondered what this woman had to gain out of her. Given, it was considered a “nice” day in Forks…Julia had come out to the beach partially because it was nice, but also because of the potential to meet some men. This girl could be out here for a number of reasons; the weather, boys, she likes the outdoors, to meet people…Ugh, meeting people, for fun? She rested on her elbows and crossed her ankles.
Who meets people for…fun? Jay would pick up guys for fun, now that was one thing. But who really went out of their way to meet new people for fun? Like, hey let’s go to the beach and approach a stranger, maybe I’ll make a new best friend today! God no. “Maybe I should get a new mindset…”[/color] she thought to herself. Maybe…She would try to be polite to this girl if she decided not to rat on her. “I’m not telling you my name unless you swear you won’t get me in trouble for my special lemonade,” she told her, looking at her this time through her sunglasses. Jay had a more genuine smile this time, trying to be a little playful so that this girl really wouldn’t go get authorities to get her kicked off the beach.
