It was done. Finally. Everything had been perfect. The girl was dead. And there was no way anyone else could mess it up. Riley had been very pleased with recent events. (No more annoying whiny newborns. His life was clearly looking up.) He thought he had been a step ahead of everything. He thought he'd known her motives. And that's why it came as a complete shock when she revealed she'd been completely using him for her own advantages. Of course he was going to argue with her when she told him that. Of course- he'd done everything she'd wanted and she couldn't- there was no way the whole thing could have been a lie. She was not leaving. He wasn't having that.. And so they ended up fighting. I'd like to say Riley won but we all know that that was absolutely not how that went and so Riley did not in fact win, nor did he come out in any way victorious or with anything in his head better justified.
In fact, he kind of came out a complete mess. He'd loved her and he'd been willing to do anything for her so now that she was gone.. he didn't know where to go. He didn't know what to do. His entire purpose had been raising the damn army and doing what she wanted now.. Now he realized that he'd spent the last year of his life killing and turning people who didn't deserve it for no good reason. He didn't know better. He didn't WANT to be this way. But it wasn't exactly like he could go back in time and stop it. There was no reverse. And of course being angry over this and killing the first humans he came across was the most obvious solution to him problem. As soon as he realized what he'd done he got more pissed off. And the logical thing to do at this point for any grief-stricken vampire still in his first year was to take it out on all the trees in the nearby area. It didn't really make him feel better, but he couldn't bring himself to leave the newly formed clearing either so he sat down against one of the turned over tree trunks.

[/div] PJ had decided to give into distractions and not do the whole grading papers thing. PJ hated that the district made him give out homework. He didn’t like grading it as much as the students liked doing it. Honestly the vampire would rather just give tests and lecture. Homework was a useless thing and brought no joy to anybody. But of course that’s not how the District of Forks High School saw it. They thought it would be useful and help the students grasp the material better. Lies, PJ said, all lies. If anything it was teaching students how to go online and copy homework from Google or Wikipedia. They weren’t learning anything, if anything they were learning how to hate PJ more. And the man didn’t like the thought of people hating him. No that just won’t do. So most of his homework was easy things, like making a poster and coloring maps. Nothing too difficult, at least he thought so. Yet students still found a way to complain about it. Though there was that big paper that PJ was, once again, forced to assign. He gave it to the students in the begin of the year and didn’t expect it back until the end of the year. That way students could procrastinate for as long as they wanted to. He even had a count down until the due date, which was three days before school actually ended. Something the students liked to count down more to.
So instead of grading useless homework and tests today, PJ decided to go for a run. It would be nice and distracting. And he would be left alone to his thoughts. Unlike he was at home with Gwen there. Apparently all of her friends were busy and she didn’t have work today. Normally PJ would love to revel in the whole sibling bonding thing but not this time. He was avoiding her because of the whole mate thing. He really didn’t want to sit down and talk about what was going to happen now. He knew that Gwen wanted to have that conversation because she had it stuck in her head that she was going to move away from them. For some odd reason. PJ didn’t want his sister to leave but didn’t have it in him to argue with her today. Maybe tomorrow. So he went on a run through the forest, alone. Of course it wasn’t going to stay that way, obviously. One cannot simply run through the Forks forest and not run into some other being. It was bound to happen and it was going to happen soon.
The male vampire knew this because after about five minutes of alone time he heard trees crumbling to the ground. Well someone was mad. PJ didn’t like that some vampires had bad tempers, because they were always the ones to slip up and risk their species’ future. But he didn’t judge nonetheless. At least not out loud. Curiosity got to him, along with the need to sooth the angry vampire. He was assuming it was a vampire due to the smell and the fact that the trees sounded like they were being torn from the ground. Something a normal human couldn’t do. PJ lurked around the trees and watched as the brunette finally sat down by a destroyed tree. Well at least there was a new pretty clearing now. He slowly and hesitantly walked over to the clearing. “I would ask if everything was okay but…” PJ gestured to the trees as his voice trailed off. He looked at the vampire in front of him. Red eyes and young looking skin. He looked like a newborn, or at least a newer vampire. “May I ask why you are destroying the forest?” He wasn’t being mean or sarcastic. He was generally curious. He wanted to help, that’s who PJ was.

This situation was extremely frustrating. Being frustrated caused Riley to do violent things. And doing violent things in turn made him more frustrated. So basically, it was a very counterproductive cycle. Like us going through and liking every movie we've seen on facebook this morning. And he couldn't break it, he couldn't calm down, and he certainly couldn't figure out that there was another way to do this whole vampire thing by himself. Even if there was, he didn't think he deserved it. He just led a bunch of people who didn't deserve it to their deaths. By all accounts he shouldn't have been alive and he really didn't want to be alive. Of course, it wasn't all his fault. There was a manipulative bitch who'd ruined his life first. And he couldn't even fully blame her because part of him still liked her. So yeah, Riley's life kind of sucked right now.. to state the obvious.
He hit the ground again as hard as he could and buried his head in his knees. He was too wrapped up in his own problems to be paying attention to the outside world and notice the vampire approaching him. Riley really shouldn't have been surprised that someone heard him. I mean, he wasn't really trying to keep it quiet. He was pretty sure a human would have caught three trees falling (because when a tree falls in the forest and some's around to hear it it definitely produces a sound, just saying). Still, the voice made him jump. "It's not my fault. I didn't mean to do it." It wasn't until after he spoke he had no idea who this person was. And they had gold eyes. Shit. Shit shit shit. (Of course he assumed all the gold eyes vampires were best friends and knew about what had happened.) “May I ask why you are destroying the forest?” "No. Get away from me." As rude and aggrieved as he sounded, he didn't sound all that intimidating right now.

[/div] PJ was thoroughly confused at the boy’s response. “Didn’t mean to do what?” PJ asked curiously. The man was a curious vampire and somewhat concerned for many reasons. He was concerned for the boy and for the forest. The trees didn’t deserve this treatment. Okay maybe some of them did, but that’s not the point of this paragraph. Clearly this thread has nothing to do with trees. PJ didn’t want to provoke this new vampire but he wasn’t scared for his safety. Despite the fact that he was a gold-eyed vampire, he was still 250 years old. PJ was pretty sure he could hold his own against a newer vampire. Of course he didn’t want a physical fight to happen. PJ was more of a ‘let’s talk this out’ kind of guy. But anyways, back to this stranger. Apparently he did something, or THOUGHT he did something. And was apparently scared about it. PJ put his hands in front of him and slowly sat down in front of him. “I am not going to hurt you.”
The old vampire didn’t move like he was instructed to do so. PJ was the kind of person that always helped people in need. It was an impulse. And PJ always did what his impulses wanted him to do. For being such a reasonable and patient guy, he was extremely impulsive. “Okay,” he stated and glanced around at the destruction around them. “You really kicked some tree-ass.” PJ had lived with Gwen for hundreds of years, he would like to think he knew how to handle crazy, angry vampires. And usually how to handle them was not to pry into their private business. People in general didn’t like when others tried to pry into their business. When they were ready and if they even wanted to, they would tell you what was wrong. PJ was willing to sit her by this guy for however long it took. He clearly had nowhere to go. Those papers at home weren’t going anywhere. Of course there was a chance that this guy would walk away from him. That was cool too, at least PJ tried. Speaking of which, he should probably introduce himself. That might actually help. “I’m PJ, by the way.”

”Didn’t do what?” ”Nothing,” he responded harshly. He knew the guy wasn’t going to believe him but he didn’t really care.. as long as he didn’t know. Though he was surprised that vampire didn’t know already, Riley had no intentions of telling him. There was no way to make ‘I helped a psychopathic bitch create a vampire army so that she could kill these other vampires and oh yeah, every disaster, death, and disappearance in Seatle this year was our fault too’ sound less than horrible, except for maybe adding the true bit about him being a gullible idiot.. but Riley was too prideful for that and it was also none of this guy’s business. He started to walk closer and Riley instinctively got ready to fight or run.. he wasn’t sure which yet and the guy seemed to catch on. ”I am not going to hurt you.” He tensed, but stayed where he was sitting as the guy took a seat in front of him.
Riley had told him to get lost but it seemed like the older vampire wasn’t going to listen. He said something stupid about Riley kicking tree ass and he just kind of scoffed because it was supposed to be funny or conversational or whatever but he obviously wasn’t in the mood for that right now. ”You’re not going to leave, are you?” he asked, still irritated though at this point as he was although curious what he wanted. Because if it was answers he wasn’t going to get them and if it was a fight Riley really didn’t care what happened to him. ”I’m PJ, by the way.” he added, and Riley looked up at him. Seriously, he had made it pretty obvious that he wanted to be alone (okay, so if he really wanted to be alone he would have just walked away but.. besides the point, he’d said it twice now) and he wasn’t even being close to friendly but the guy was being so.. nice… it was weird. Deciding that introducing himself couldn’t hurt and he wasn’t getting rid of the guy anyway, he nodded and quietly replied, ”Riley.”
