PERSONALITY:
Tegan is the quiet one of the De Luca family. She likes the background more than front and center. Tegan likes to sit back and listen to people. She likes to people watch and won’t really say much or say what’s on her mind, like her twin. While she will give you good advice, she won’t ever tell you her honest opinion. Unlike Dodger. She is more like the twin that will sugar-coat everything and if she’s upset with you, she won’t say a thing about it. This is because of two qualities that Tegan has, that her sister doesn’t.
One of them is her ability to put everybody before herself. This is always a problem with Tegan. Seeing as how she won’t ever be happy because she’s always trying to make other’s happy. She loves to focus on other’s problems over her own. Even though she is quiet and doesn’t like to talk much, she will sit and listen to ramble on about your problems for a long, long time. And the second quality is that she is a truly sweet and polite girl. She is a virgin, unlike Dodger. A unicorn! Tegan likes to be sweet and polite, she bits back every bad comment that is said in her head.
That being said doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a sense of humor. While Dodger’s humor is more dry and sarcastic, Tegan’s goofy and silly. She likes to make ridiculous notions and jokes. She will even giggle at her jokes when nobody else does, because she thinks she’s hilarious. Of course with all this good, there is bad. While her twin sister is a dark girl in general and doesn’t hide it, Tegan keeps her dark side hidden deep, deep down. She keeps in all the negative feelings until she can’t take it anymore. And nobody wants to be there for the eruption. It is very dangerous to be around her when her temper finally flares.
Along with all of that, when Tegan goes bad, she really goes bad. This is due to the fact that she is generally a good girl and doesn’t know how to be bad. But once that seal is broken it is hard to reseal it. And she gets very self-destructive. She is the poster child for why people shouldn’t have alcohol. But after she reigns in her anger and her dark side, Tegan will apologize excessively. She will go to the ends of the earth trying to make up for all the bad things she caused.
And of course, as a normal twin she is only loyal and trusts only her twin and her family. Even though Tegan is a very trustworthy individual. She doesn’t trust a person to save her life. It’s her one contradiction in her personality. While she will bend over backwards for people and such, she will not trust them with any of her feelings, secrets, or families.
HISTORY:
Tegan was the other twin born into the De Luca family. Dodger and she grew up with their single father in Louisiana. Even though the two girls were close they were two different people. Their apposing personalities and lack of identical-ness made it hard for other people to believe that they were twins. Despite all of this the two girls were close and had one thing for sure in common, they were both very interested in their family heritage. Something their father never really liked them digging into. So they would sneak around looking into everything themselves, lying to their father about it.
As the two got older there were some disappearances within their town. Something that automatically peaked the twin’s interest. Once again they began researching everything without their father’s knowledge. One night the two of them were on their way home when Dodger thought it would be a good idea to go through the back way. In the dark. While there was a kidnapper and/or murderer running around. Yea, Tegan doesn’t blame her sister for what happened next but she surely won’t ever let her live it down. They were attacked, naturally, by none other than a child of the moon. Somehow the girls managed to survive and make it home.
Tegan, with her vast knowledge of the first aid kit, bandaged them up without their father knowing. And it wasn’t until the next full moon did the twins actually realized what happened to them. The twins realized they couldn’t stay with their father because they would inevitably hurt him. So once they graduated high school the girls were out of there. Of course they didn’t know where to next until Dodger picked up a clue on their family history. Something they momentarily forgot about within the chaos. The clue led them to Forks. Tegan later found out it was tip their father decided to give to Dodger.
Once there, the girls seemed to run into a dead end until one faithful day. Tegan decided to go grocery shopping for the two girls, since she just got paid at her job. While she was there she felt someone following her through the store. After everything that had happened, Tegan didn’t take the feeling lightly. She gave the stalker a run for his money through the store and finally confronted him in the alcohol aisle. There is some sort of irony there. It turned out that the person following her was their vampire uncle. He was kind and even though it took a while for the girls to warm up to him, they eventually moved into his house. Tegan knew there was more to the family mystery but decided to put it on the back burner for now. With everything that had happened in their life Tegan just wants some semblance of normalcy and happiness.
