“We are so lost,” Quinn whispered to herself with a small smile. So the twins had been in town for a couple days, maybe a week. Time really has no meaning to them so Quinn stopped paying attention to it. It was a useless tool for her, honestly. Why pay attention to something that means nothing to you? Like time. They had plenty of it. They were two 21 year olds on their own. They had no job, no school. The world was theirs and theirs alone. Which meant they had a shit ton of free time. That’s how they ended up here in the first place. They got bored and wanted to move to a town where there were more people like them. Shifters. And there was no pack that caught their attention, one run by a female. It was supposedly unheard of, since female shifters were rare as it was. But a female alpha! How dare the women take leadership! How dare they! Quinn mentally rolled her eyes at the mere thought of it.
So they were bored and moved to a very boring part of the world, Forks. Honestly they should have known that being bored in California would be better than this. They had the whole world at their fingertips, but the most interesting thing that they wanted to investigate was in this pin prick of a town. Oh well, things happen. And with a small town came lots and lots of trees. And awful amount of trees. Quinn loved nature, she was the outdoorsy twin. And loved to venture outside in the real world versus a television screen. But this, this was ridiculous. This was just trees and trees…and look, more trees. Where was the sand? Where was the ocean? At least in California they had a little more variance to her adventures. But every tree looked the same up here and none of them actually looked like any land markers. So it was easy for a couple of newbies to get lost in this place.
Which brings us back to the earlier comment Quinn had made earlier. Let’s face it, even if the twins decided to enlist a map’s help they would still be incredibly lost. At least this way they couldn’t blame each other for bad map reading. Though now Quinn had every right to tease her brother on how horrible his sense of direction was. Though if she was leading the expedition they would have found themselves in another state by now. Quinn was relatively sure her brother wouldn’t be THAT bad in venturing through a forest. But you never know, since all of the trees looked the same! “I’m relatively sure we passed that tree an hour ago,” Quinn commented staring intently at a tree. There was something oddly familiar about it. Or maybe it was just her going crazy over the sheer fact that she had been staring at these trees for a couple hours now.
The black haired girl adjusted her sweat shirt over her bikini top slightly before glancing around. Yup, lots of trees. Well they were making progress. That was pure sarcasm, if you didn’t already guess. She clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth, and inhaled sharply. That’s when she caught the scent of another shifter. Well now, how did she miss that? “Luke,” she tried mouthing to her brother. As she glanced around the trees. They had to be in another pack’s territory by now. It was whether or not that pack was the one they were looking for or not. That’s the more important thing at hand here. Quinn waited for her brother to address the other shifter. He was the talker, the people shifter, the nicer twin. She was just his pain in the butt sister that livened up his life.

[/color] "We're not lost!" You know that ridiculously stereotypical thing in all the movies about boys never wanting to ask for directions? Yeah, that was Luke. Not that asking for directions would have been in any way possible, since Ally and I have already established in another thread that trees do not talk..and besides them, air, and his ever-pleasant-to-be-lost-with sister, there was absolutely nothing within a good five miles any direction. They were attempting to locate the shifter pack which had been the whole reason they moved to Forks in the first place. It had been a few weeks now and since they hadn't randomly happening upon anything interesting, they figured they'd try and put some effort into it.
That said, "We're obviously still in Washington." was about the only evidence he had to back up that not-lost-ness.. and even that was looking a bit shaky. “I’m relatively sure we passed that tree an hour ago." "No, I remember the one you were thinking of. That branch was a little lower." He illustrated with his hands. "You know, if I never see another tree again after today, I really wouldn't mind." Quinn was the nature person, and it was clear even she was getting fed up. Luke didn't hate the outdoors or anything, but he could definitely think of other things he'd rather be doing than wandering around the forest. Yeah, it didn't really go with the wolf image. Oh well. He was unconventional.
Considering the fact that Luke was really trying hard to find something that wasn't a tree (at this point he didn't care where they went- so long as it wasn't part of a forest) he was surprised that Quinn sensed the shifter before him. Her mouthing kind of sucked, but luckily they had twin telepathy (and yanno, it wasn't their first time meeting new people), so Luke knew the drill. He continued walking until the other shifter was in his line of sight and then stood next to his sister. "Hey. I'm Luke, and the one over there who can't whisper is my sister Quinn." He didn't feel the need to mention that they were shifters (it was obvious) and that they weren't from around here (again, obvious). The shifter they'd run into was a female, so, he made the general assumption that she was from the "cool pack" and they weren't going to have any problems.
