It had seemed like a perfectly good idea. I mean, Keisha and Devon did it all the time. Tala had even done it! Jacki might not have been a shifter, but she was the naturally talented one in the family. She was to outdoorsy one. She was going to be the stunt double. So if they could do jump off of cliffs into the ocean- so could she. And she did. And it was awesome.. right up until landing... and everything after that. Of course, Jacki, being Jacki, didn't really care that she could have (and very nearly) got herself killed. Injuries? They'd heal. Scars? They were badass. She was more excited to retell the story to anyone who would listen. Anyone, that is, except for her brother. Tala couldn't find out.. ever. There was no way- she would never hear the end of it! Jacki was far too prideful to admit to her brother that he was right and it would be even worse if she interupted him while he was doing something "important" to ask him to pick her up.
She pulled out her phone, completely forgetting that it had been in her pocket and could have gotten destroyed during her adventure. (She knew she'd forgotten something.) It hadn't gotten destroyed though, and that was all that mattered, so she called up the person who she knew would come rescue her from white walls and yucky food without question or complaint. "Hey Will.. you're willing to do me a super huge favor because I'm your favorite person ever, right? I kind of need to be picked up.. from the hospital.. and stay at your house for a few days. Thank you I love you!" Mhm, the power of persuasion. Jacki had it. Along with the power of selective hearing and asserting her ideas no matter what the other person said. Not that Willow would ever say anything so uncool that Jacki had to disagree with it. She just could if she needed too.
Waiting.. that was the annoying part. They weren't going to let her leave until she had a ride.. and she probably wouldn't have gotten far anyway. Flipping her phone open and closed a few times, she smirked to herself and went to her brother's contact. Text message. 'Hey. Staying with Willow for the weekend. Don't get all suspicious. I swear we're not planing to tie dye your walls.' Well, now he'd surely know something was up- but he'd be going on a wild goose chase in the other direction and Jacki obviously had nothing against that. Besides, it wasn't like improving the aesthetic value of Tala's room wasn't one of their favorite past times. Actually, not getting to bother Tala for a few days was going to be a big disappointment. She guessed they'd just have to make due with bothering Willow's brother's. And there was always the internet.. She was sure they could survive.

Homework was the last thing a person would ever see Willow do on her day off of school. But the paper was due by midnight and well, she never really started it. Well until now. Will stared at the old desktop that she shared with her brothers. The cursor blinking mockingly at her, as she read over the one sentence she wrote. For probably the tenth time. A starting sentence was not her problem; it was the rest of the paper that always gave Willow a hard time. The girl was debating on what her ultimate major was going to be. As of right now she really liked the idea of majoring in music, but she always had an interest in psychology. Regardless, writing a paper on Shakespeare was not going to help her in the long run. So she found very little motivation to actually write the damn paper. So she sat there, staring at the cursor and waited for time to pass by. The closer it got to the deadline, the more motivation she would probably find to write.
But right now she was being the biggest procrastinator on the face of the planet. Okay probably not the biggest, but still, just staring at a computer was pretty bad. She clicked her tongue as she opened another tab and went straight to the one place that distracts everybody her age. Facebook. She was typing in her password when her phone suddenly went off. Willow paused momentarily, forgetting that was actually her phone ringing. Usually people text her, she hasn’t had an actually phone call in a year. Confused, Willow quickly picked up her cell phone and saw Jacki’s name on her caller ID. Now why was her best friend calling her? “Hello?” Willow answered hesitantly. Hospital? Well that would explain the phone call and not a text. And it would also explain why Willow was getting the call and not Tala. She was less likely to freak out and more likely to pick her up without a problem. “Alright, I’m on my way. Love ya, too!” Willow hung up her cell phone and grabbed her car keys. Yes, even though her family wasn’t exactly rich, Willow still managed to save up for her own car. Sharing everything with two boys was driving her nuts.
Will fixed her messy pony tail slightly and shot her oldest brother a text. ‘Picking up Jacki, she’s staying with us for a couple days, cool? Cool! Glad we had this discussion!’ Her oldest brother, Dylan, was farther in age to her but closest in personality. So that text would no doubt earn her a laugh and nothing else. He wouldn’t have a problem with Willow’s friend being here for a couple of days. He would probably find Jacki entertaining. It was Ethan that was going to have a problem with it. But he wasn’t the oldest, so he had no say in the matter! Will felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, probably his response. She would have to look at that later. The nineteen year old quickly pulled out of the driveway and sped to the hospital. Willow was honestly lucky she was pulled over by a cop.
Willow parked her car and ran into the waiting room. She glanced around and immediately spotted Jacki. “Jacki!” Willow cheered, unable to stop the relief in her voice. The girl knew her best friend well enough to know that she did something completely dangerous and stupid to land in the hospital. Willow would have laughed at the whole thing if it wasn’t for the small fact that Jacki didn’t bring Willow along. And to be honest, Will was surprised Jacki wasn’t encased in some type of cast at the moment. But she just gave her friend a grin. “Come on, I’ll buy us lunch and you can tell me what happened. And why you didn’t invite me.” Willow waved to Jacki to follow her to the car. Her friend would surely love the free food that she was about to get.

Okay, so, the longer Jacki sat there, the more she realized that it had kind of been a stupid idea. Or well, a good idea that needed a little bit more thought. Because, of course she planned on doing it again. She would think it through better, and probably invite Willow to go with her (and maybe make Willow do some of the thinking) but she was definitely going to go again. She wanted to! Maybe she wouldn't have if she like.. got paralyzed or something, but all things considered, Jacki got off pretty easy. A small hairline fracture, bruised ribs, and some cuts that needed stitches were her only injuries, and those would be easy enough to hide form her brother and parents as soon as she got off all the loopy meds. And until then, she got to sleep over at Willows. So, everything was good!
Just.. waiting.. that was boring. Her phone was one of those old crappy ones so she played the Miss Pacman demo about four times before giving up because she did not have the patience to collect a hundred microscopic dots on a super tiny screen and avoid all the ghosts trying to eat her and get a 'time up please download the full version' every time she started to get close to winning. So, then she had to resort to math class tactics of entertainment, like trying to count how many dots there were on the ceiling. Luckily, it wasn't very long before she heard a familiar voice calling her name. "Willow!" She grinned back, getting up to follow her out to freedom. "Wow you drove fast! I'm surprised you're not calling me from police station!" she teased. Because, of course, Willow was in the more tease-able position in this situation, the way Jacki saw it, but she was really only teasing- she was glad her friend showed up as fast as she did.
“Come on, I’ll buy us lunch and you can tell me what happened. And why you didn’t invite me.” "I couldn't have invited you! If I did- who would have come pick us up? And gave us free food? And let us sleep over? See Will, you're the best!" Of course, that wasn't really why Jacki hadn't invited her friend. She obviously had no idea that this was how her day was going to end up. And the free food and stuff, that was all just an unexpected bonus. But there had been a very good reason why Willow hadn't been with her. "Besides, I texted you and you didn't respond!" Okay, so by that, she meant Willow didn't respond within like two and a half minutes. Because that's how long she waited before deciding that Willow was probably busy or she'd been kidnapped or something. "You know I'd have taken you otherwise!"

“Please, the police are too busy eating donuts in this town,” Willow joked. This small town was filled with cops, teachers, and waiters. Those were the only real jobs around town that Willow even took notice of. That being said the cops are here were a bit slow. And tended to let a crying teenager go free. Tears. They were her golden ticket out of trouble. They always helped get her out of trouble with her father and oldest brother. And just the simple water in the eye would get her detached high school principal very scared, and would automatically get her out of trouble. It was beautiful. Willow had a gift and she embraced it wholeheartedly. Her lovely tears also got her out of five speeding tickets in the two months. Really it was a true, true gift! “Plus when have you ever known me to actually get a speeding ticket.” Willow has never gotten one and she wasn’t complaining.
Willow thought about it, and other then her brother Dylan and Pete, she really didn’t know anybody else that would assist them out of the hospital. Let alone buy them lunch. That reminded Willow that she still hasn’t told Jacki about her boyfriend. She wanted to two of them to meet and get along. Because well Pete was her pending boyfriend and Jacki was her best friend. Though Jacki wasn’t really open to the whole dating thing, it was too mainstream for her. And while Willow would have agreed, she couldn’t help but fall for the cute shyness that Pete had. It was a nice break from the crazy, obnoxious world of her and Jacki’s mind. “You got me there, dude!” Willow walked out towards her car, hoping that Jacki would follow her. The black haired girl was surprisingly hungry and wanted to eat more than she realized.
“Jacki! I responded five minutes later!” Willow laughed as she got in her car and started it up. She hoped Jacki was okay getting into the car by herself. “Need help?” She was sure that if she did, she wouldn’t admit it anyways. It didn’t bother to ask though. That’s what being a good friend was about. “I was texting someone else about some future plans.” Way to be ominous Willow. She wasn’t sure how she was going to address the topic of Pete and that whole thing with her best friend. She didn’t want Jacki to think she was mainstream and find her boring. Because let’s face it, Willow was anything but boring. And yea having a boyfriend might actually be the only normal thing in her life, but it was still cool! Surely if Jacki met Pete…oh god, Willow was becoming a main stream girl. What was wrong with her? Okay, she needed to tell Jacki, but how? “I think I have a boyfriend.” Okay that’s how.

“Please, the police are too busy eating donuts in this town.” Jacki laughed. Not so much at the statement as the fact that they had to be the only people in the world who would make fun of the police in a room full of emergency workers. "Well in their defense, our donut shop is pretty awesome." I mean, who didn't like donuts? And coffee! Donut shops always had good coffee. In fact they had better coffee than the coffee shop, and it was cheaper. So Jacki didn't really blame the police for spending their time there. Especially when it got her and Willow out of tickets. Of course, the two of them were perfectly capable of that on their own. Jacki could fake cry (although she preferred to fake foreign), but Willow deserved a freakin Oscar for her work. Really, Jacki had seen it. And there was nothing better. "Never." she answered, "I'm sorry I doubted your skills."
Sometimes it was hard to keep to keep track of all the skills they had because there were just so many of them. (Modesty wasn't exactly on that list.. Neither was subtlety.) Willow agreed with her and Jacki smiled triumphantly as they exited the building. "I told you, I think of everything." Jacki had a very wide skill set, and a very long list of life plans. They included just about everything other than settling down in a relationship.. going to college.. and eating spinach. None of those sounded particularly fun, and so they weren't things that Jacki needed to bother herself with. Willow went to college, but that was fine, because it meant parties. So that was logical. “Jacki! I responded five minutes later!” "Did you?" She checked her phone. "Oh.. well I left already! I didn't know how long to wait!" I mean, she could have waited five minutes and not gotten a reply until the sixth or seventh and then that waiting would have been for nothing. Of course she also could have left a more descriptive text message that told Willow what she was doing and where to meet her but shush, thats besides the point.
"Need help?" "No.. I've got it." she assured, slipping the door open. She flopped into the seat with a grimace, straightening up and pushing her hair out of her eyes with a charming smile. "Am I included in these future plans? If I am, that's totally okay!" It was really okay if she wasn't too, but of course, Willow always took Jacki along with her when she had interesting plans, so she wasn't expecting otherwise. There was something Willow wasn't telling her though. It was pretty clear from the way she wasn't getting all excited about these plans they had. “I think I have a boyfriend.” Oh.. well that explained it- Wait! "No way! Willow!" She grinned at the other girl. Had she not known Willow's honest voice like she did, she'd never have believed her. They were too cool for relationships. It was like the not being a shifter thing. "You haven't been taking over by androids or anything, right? Should I be worried about getting in the car with you?" She faked skepticism and looked her friend over carefully. "Well! Who is it??"

Let’s be honest these two were not going to actually settle down at all this weekend. They would be lucky if they got any sleep. It was going to be Willow and Jacki, together, all weekend. Obviously sleep was not going to be in the equation. Movies and copious amounts of sugar was definitely in the equation. Which meant there was no room for anything boring or time consuming. Like sleep and homework. “You’re forgiven, just don’t doubt me again,” Willow joked. One of these days Willow wasn’t going to be so skillful. Like when she got older and lost her Oscar winning looks. Like around the age of eighty. Even then Willow can probably get out of trouble. She would be that old lady in the home, rolling around on the scooter causing mayhem. And they couldn’t do anything because she was old and there would be zero point in punishing her.
Of course Jacki thought of everything it was one of her many skills. Yes the girls had a boat load of skills. How do you think they survived this long? Separately they were dangerous…together, they were…indescribable. Two power players, playing a very easy game. They were just those kinds of people. Okay so she thought of everything except to check her phone five minutes after she sent a text to Willow. These two weren’t perfect, yanno. Nearly perfect, yes. But not actually perfect. “Well you could have at least given me some details; I could have met up with you.” Yes she was going to bring that point up because it was very valid. Willow could have met up with her best friend. Or at least be at the cliff by the time the other girl jumped. But they would still be out of a rescue vehicle if Will went. Despite the fact that Willow’s oldest brother would have picked them up, they would still have to hear a lecture. Even though he wouldn’t have punished them afterwards. Willow stull liked her ride home to be lecture free. That way she wouldn’t have to think of things to distract her from the whole ‘you could have died’ speech. A speech that Jacki was very grateful Willow was not giving her.
Willow watched her friend wearily as she got into the car. “Only if you want to watch some extreme PDA.” Well let’s be honest here for a moment, Willow was a hormonal teen with a new boyfriend. Of course there was going to be some extreme PDA between her and Pete. At least during the honeymoon phase. After that maybe not so much. Though you never know because it was Willow. She never really had control over her impulses. She may over think things when it comes to other people. But when it came to herself and her own desires, she was extremely impulsive. The girl wasn’t really ready for the surprise in Jacki’s voice. It wasn’t that the two couldn’t get a boyfriend from their good looks or anything like that. It’s just that…well…these two girls were never really interested in the whole dating scene to begin with. Okay, so Jacki had every right to be surprised. But Pete was different, obviously. He turned Willow into a ‘girlfriend’, normal guys couldn’t possibly have that power. “I’m still your best friend, Willow. Just with some new toys.” The woman let out a laugh. She hesitated at Jacki’s next question. Pete was 17 so the two could know each other. Not to mention La Push and Forks was pretty tiny. She didn’t really want Jacki to harass the boy, but the girl was Willow’s best friend. “Pete Catori.”

Somehow, teasing Willow about her driving had turned into insulting the police which turned into deciding to eat donuts... Actually, for Willow and Jacki, that was a pretty easy conversation to follow. Anyway, they were going to get donuts. Which meant that sleeping and other things people did when they weren't on sugar highs probably wouldn't be happening. Although anyone who knew them should have already known that much. "We should!" Jacki agreed. Donuts would be a pretty good way to start the weekend. Followed by movies and games and sibling pranking and party planning and world domination. Okay, so they only TALKED about world domination but still, it was there. “You’re forgiven, just don’t doubt me again." "Never. Your persuasive talents will be marked in a hall of fame and tell your legacy for generations to come." Jacki could do overdramatic too. Just saying. Willow informed her that she could have given her information and they could have met up and she held up her hands defensively. "Okay, okay, you have a point. I think of almost everything." It would be impossible to never mess up. Nobody could do that. Jacki wasn't perfect in that way. Then again, she did believe she was pretty damn close.
"Noo thank you." Jacki shook her head, sticking out her tongue at the thought of watching a make out session. I mean, she'd obviously seen them before. She was a teenager and she did go to school.. occasionally. But she usually tried to occupy hersefl with more fun things. “I’m still your best friend, Willow. Just with some new toys.” "Pop rocks make cooler toys." she mumbled. For that matter, so did so did video games, soccer balls, crayons, board games, even bubble wrap... Jacki was really anti gross mushy couple stuff. She really didn't think she was going to be able to get used to this whole Willow plus boyfriend thing until Willow gave her a name. "Pete?! No. Way. I can't believe he didn't tell me! He imprinted? So this means you know about the pack now, right? That's great! Because keeping the secret sucked! And being the only human! Oh my god this is going to be awesome!" Of course she was excited. Hanging out with Tala's pack was like the one thing she did that she couldn't tell Willow about (and not by her own choice). Now that Willow knew about it and would be hanging out with them more often, well, maybe Willow dating someone wouldn't be such a bad thing. Besides, Jacki liked Pete. I mean, he was a little too shy, but if hanging out with Willow didn't open him up, nothing would.

Donuts and probably few sibling pranks here and there. So much for Willow getting her paper done on time. Lets be realistic that wasn’t going to happen anyways. If anything she was going to use a high school paper, edit it a little, and turn it in that way. It wasn’t like her high school papers sucked. They were actually pretty decent especially the ones she did in her senior year. But for now she had to focus on getting donuts for her and her friend. Well after they got lunch. Lunch first. That was the most important part of their adventure at the moment. Of course there weren’t many choices in Forks. There was the diner…and the diner. Well at least they didn’t have to sit in the parking lot for ten minutes ask each other what they wanted to eat. That would go nowhere and Willow would just get cranky from lack of food. “That’s the only way I’ll have it. Kids will learn from skill, who knows maybe they’ll make a class out of it one day!” Willow let out a chuckle at how ridiculous this was getting. And it was clearly not helping her cockiness. “Damn Jacki, I thought you were perfect.” She grinned at her friend jokingly as she continued to drive out of the parking lot and to the diner that was literally two minutes away.
Willow quickly pulled into a parking spot next to the diner as she let out a chuckle at her friend’s reaction. She turned off her car before getting out, assuming that Jacki was going to follow her. Of course she was going to follow her if she wanted food. “Pop rocks are candy not toys, and believe me certain toys cannot be replaced.” So what, Willow had a dirty mind. And was a little hormone crazy. Just a little, only a little. Will stopped in her tracks and whipped around to look at Jacki. “What are you talking about? What secret? He did what? How do you know Pete?” There were a million questions swimming around her head at that moment. But the most important one. “You’re human?!” Of course that was a complete joke. Willow was trying to deflect her confusion at the situation. At her slight irritation at the fact that her best friend would keep some sort of secret from her. Will had told Jacki everything! Okay maybe not everything. Yes, everything. Willow couldn’t think of a single thing that Jacki didn’t know about her. Then again Willow was pretty much an open book. Will never had problems trusting people. She liked people. She enjoyed life. She would be perfectly honest with anybody would asked her questions about herself.

First and foremost, to all those people who say Willow and Jacki can’t plan, take that! Okay, so maybe they didn’t really plan, maybe one of them just got a spontaneous impulse and they ran with it, but either way, they knew what they were doing tonight. And was it going to be more fun than your night? You betcha. Jacki wasn’t in any way surprised when Willow agreed with and added on to her ridiculous statement. I mean, of course Willow wasn’t going to disagree with any plan that made her famous- Jacki wouldn’t either. No normal person would. Okay, maybe a person who didn’t have a large ego would but… have you been reading this thread? A person like that was definitely not present. ”The Carmichael School of Persuasive Arts!” Jacki suggested with a laugh. It sounded perfect, completely legit and everything. ”I can see it now- and it looks good! I guess we couldn’t agree on what color it should be though because there’s paint splatters everywhere.” Jacki grinned before closing her eyes and waving her fingers in a horribly stereotypical psychic impression (what? You didn’t know Jacki had psychic powers? Get with the program people). ”Apparently we’re also rich enough to have a private jet and we get interview on TV! I like this future.”
Jacki didn’t need to ask Willow where they were going to get food because there was only like one place to eat in the nearest ten miles. Yanno, just like there was one mall and one school and one of everything else. That was how shit worked when you lived in the middle of freaking nowhere. Decision making was a thing of the past. Of course, even if there were a bunch of places to choose from Jacki would trust Willow’s judgment because, being her best friend, Willow obviously had pretty awesome taste (this, was at least what Jacki would think until the b word started getting thrown around YUCK) ”Damn Jacki, I thought you were perfect.” Jacki grinned back. ”No way! Perfect people are boring anyway!” Seriously, the two of them were far from being normal, let alone “perfect”. Although technically the definition of that word was entirely up for debate. Jacki just always imagined perfect people being boring and stereotypical and all around annoying and normal and so perfection was not a state of being she hoped to achieve in her life time. Then again, maybe they were all boring and annoying and normal and she and Willow were perfect. That was probably how it worked. I dunno, Emma’s the definition person on this site. Jacki didn’t really care as long as she could be obnoxious and claim superiority over her brother… and Willow’s brothers.. and mostly everyone else.
””You have clearly never set a pop rocks trap in your brother’s bedroom then. Trust me, they’re toys.” Jacki responded, rolling her eyes at the later part of that statement because all this romantic stuff literally didn’t even register in her brain. It wasn’t that she was awkward or anti-relationship due to bad experiances or anything, she just literally just thought it was gross, and a waste of her (and Willow’s) valuable time. And being the best friend, it was her job to make Willow see sense. ”What are you talking about?” Willow rattled off a few more questions and Jacki realized that maybe, just maybe, Petey had been waiting for the “right moment” to fill her in on the hey-crazy-supernatural-stalker stuff. Um, oops? ”He didn’t tell you??’ She shook her head, eyes widening. Stupid Pete. Of course he didn’t. He was spineless. ”Yea, I know- shocking right?” Jacki replied to the human comment, smiling back. They weren’t serious people, so the joking was hardly surprising. Anyway, an explanation was definitely in order.
”Okay- so, hear me out on this, ‘cuz it’s gonna sound nuts. Pete should probably be the one to tell you, his secret and all that, blah blah blah, but it’s probably gonna take him like a month and I don’t have that kind of patience so he can deal with it. Pete’s a shifter… Like, shape shifter... Like, I can turn into a giant wolf whenever I want shape shifter. What he did was called imprinting, and it’s basically some magic wolfy mojo where you see someone and decide they’re your soul mate. I don’t really know how that part works. It didn’t seem interesting enough to pay attention to.. Sorry. Anyway, he probably imprinted. I mean, he might like you too. Or maybe he likes you and he imprinted. Or maybe we’re not even talking about the same Pete. Short, blond, shy, moody older sister, and diva who lives at their house?” she questioned curiously, grinning all while she spoke. This was normal for her, so it wasn’t relaly a big deal to talk about it, and she was excited that Willow got to get in on this secret.. even if she was wrong and it had nothing to do with Willow at all. ”Anyway, since I know you’re gonna ask, no, I’m not making it up. I know all this because I’m awesome… and Tala’s a wolf too.”
