I'm not gonna be super obnoxious and put that big long Emmett quote here, but basically, Emmett told Jasper that Edward was playing nosy mind reader while Alice was introducing them (which Jasper already knew) and apparently this was a very normal thing for him (which he didn't know, but now had even more wonderful things to look forward to). "Thanks.. I figured as much. I don't think he wanted me to know originally but he got surprised when he realized I knew what he was feeling. And that Alice had already told me he was a mind reader." One of the many perks of having a psychic girlfriend. "He said something.. in my head. I kind of reacted badly. I don't think we're going to get along very well." Jasper wasn't one to overreact to things or blow up.. unless he felt threatened. The surprise interrogating inside his head kind of triggered that response and even though it was entirely Edward's fault, he still felt that he'd screwed up. 'I didn’t think you did, dude, calm down.' How Emmett could just be so careless about everything.. Jasper was kind of jealous of him. He definitely didn't understand it. "Okay, sorry."
And then Emmett was jumping out a window because Tilly plays him and Tilly characters are against all normal and polite means of exiting a room. Jasper looked down at him strangely before he was beckoned to follow and after another few seconds f looking at him like he was crazy (because you know, he was) he followed. 'We're going to fun. Does it matter?' It mattered somewhat. It mattered that there were no people around.. which Jasper was pretty sure Emmett understood. It also mattered that people weren't going to be upset with them when they got back. I mean, Jasper figured that them leaving wouldn't be a big deal, but still, some people might not approve of it and he clearly cared a lot more about having people's approval before doing things than Emmett didn't. They didn't end up going very far from the house however, before Emmett decided that these trees were as good as any, and he ripped one from the ground. For the record, Jasper still thought that this was crazy (and the bruised and beaten and very dead trees that were being used as bowling balls definitely didn't care how many letters they had carved into them) but he was going to do what Emmett said because Emmett seemed to be enjoying himself and at this point just about anything was worth a try. Like Emmett had, he carved a J on to one of the trees and then tossed it away from the house. He looked at Emmett for confirmation. "Now we go?"
