Seth was in a good mood. He'd just got done doing a shift with Paul (Ever since Sam paired them up that one time, they'd almost always gone together. Seth didn't mind it, of course- he was getting more shifts than he'd ever had before, and he was pretty sure Paul was starting to warm up to him) and that's how he'd found out about the new girl-- and where she was. Paul hadn't had anything nice to say about her, but Seth thought the opportunity to meet anyone new was exciting. La Push wasn't exactly a place that got a lot of foot traffic and she was a shifter. At least it would be nice to say hello (because people here didn't really think of things like that).
Pacing around the edge of the forest for a while, Seth waited until he knew he was alone before shifting back into wolf form. It would be easier to follow the scent of a living person than try to navigate his way around the forest. (He was pretty sure if he got lost, Leah would kill him, and Sam would never let him go on a patrol again, and.. it would just be bad). He ran towards the edge of the border, shifting back not too long after- basically, once he knew which direction he was going in. He threw on shorts and walked the rest of the way until- well he got there. There being a few feet away from a girl he didn't recognize.
"Um.. hi! You're Keisha, right? I'm Seth. Paul told me about--" You know, it was very rarely a good idea to start conversations off relaying things that Paul said. It usually didn't make people happy (they weren't usually good things)- and then Paul found out, and he wasn't happy. And, Seth had been trying really hard to get on the older shifter's good side which probably would have been more successful if he had one. He laughed a little and smiled at her. "You.. So, you're a shifter too? That's pretty awesome! I didn't know there were other shifters-- off the reservation I mean."
He looked at the shack she was standing near. He'd noticed it before, but it seemed like it had been abandoned years ago. People rarely hung around this part of the reservation. There wasn't anything wrong with it... It just was really out of the way. Feeling he needed to fill her in (she was probably curious, right?) he told her "Nobody really know's who used to live here. We just leave it alone..' He'd asked about it once, but nobody seemed to think it was a big deal. Since then he hadn't thought much about it. "Soo, what are you doing out here?"

Devon and Pete were both out of the house. And the past couple days had been a tremendous weight on her. She hated being in her human form. Well not hated it. But she disliked it to a great extent. She still wasn’t totally used to being human yet still. Many of her wolf tendencies had flowed over into her human form as well. She really hadn’t meant that to happen but it wasn’t like she knew it was going to happen anyway. But things like that did happen, and now she had to live with them. Keisha was more than okay with that though. But today she was taking a personal day, to recoup from being in her human form so much.
Though it wasn’t a help in the slightest that she was laying around her house in her wolf form. The oversized husky looking wolf prowled slowly through her old home. The feeling, the smells, the furniture. Everything was right where she remembered it. And her parent’s room was still locked up tight. She looked at the door for a moment, sadness washing over her, before she shook herself physically to help shake the feeling mentally. She took off downstairs, and stalked off into the living room. She jumped up on the ratty old couch and curled up in the corner. She rested her head on the armrest, let her eyes drift closed, and took a long deep breath, inhaling the smell she remembered all too well.
Just as she was starting to get comfortable, she heard something from the woods surrounding her house. Keisha jumped quickly from the couch and ran up stairs. She jumped over the last step, and changed mid jump. Landing lightly on her feet she, moved quickly into her room, grabbing a pair of sweat pants and a bikini top to throw on really quick to investigate. Getting dressed, she ran back down the stairs, taking them two at a time. She snuck out the back of her house and moved toward the front and out into the forest. Looking around, she heard the footsteps coming closer. She turned and walked back toward the house. Just as it came into view through the trees, a peppy voice behind her made her turn.
The boy, Seth, looked to be about 15 maybe 16. Keisha gave him a strange look. She still wasn’t used to human interaction… well more like someone being this friendly. Keisha let out a small laugh though when Seth mentioned Paul’s name. “Yeah, I’m Keisha… hi. I’m sure Paul had a lot to say about me… none of it good either,” |
she said with a slight smile. “Yeah, I’m a shifter... and yes there are plenty more out in the world. You guys aren’t the only pack out there you know.” She smiled slightly. He seemed peppy and happy-go-lucky. A lot like Pete actually. Keisha was sure these two could get along pretty well. She turned to go back to the house, hoping that the drop by was only a stop to say hi and leave. Unfortunately for her and her bum day, the younger kid next to her didn’t seem like that type. Keisha smiled at his words. So nobody really knew. “Probably a good thing you kids left it alone…” she answered with a smile. “It’s my house… has been for a long time.” She shrugged. It was no big deal really. The house was tiny now compared to what it used to be back then. But for not being touched for hundreds of years, it was still in pretty good shape. And since no one had broken into it, Keisha and her brother had done an excellent job of protecting it. Keisha started toward the house as the boy spoke again. “I’m going to go inside and relax. I’ve had a long first week back. A lot has changed since…” she stopped herself short, and shrugged as she continued to walk toward the house. “Well let’s just say a lot has changed…” Truer words hadn’t been spoken. She continued to walk, not really caring if the boy followed her not. She stepped up and onto the porch, but a movement in the corner caught her eye. Keisha’s head whipped around to look so has she heard her neck crack. That didn’t bug her. The thing that had moved was a harmless leaf. Only problem was that, it had moved where the dark stains remained on the rickety old porch. The stains of her parents’ blood. She inhaled a deep breath and ripped her eyes away from the ground. Yup, all she wanted to do today was relax, she decided as she reached for the door knob. Seth really had had no idea what to expect with Keisha. Paul hadn't had anything nice to say about her.. but she didn't seem all that bad so far. She'd said hello..and hadn't told him to get lost (yet). Those were both positive things, and she was even kind of funny. "Yeah, he did.. but don't take it personally. Paul's like that with everyone. He doesn't mean it.. well, he does.. but we're working on it." Seth nodded eagerly as if that proved his point. They were- well, he was, anyway- working on it. There hadn't been much progress, but they were going in the right direction. Less regular 'shut up's, and things like that.
Seth turned his attention back to her as she spoke. More shifters. Okay. That made sense. He'd always thought there had to be more shifters, but then, apparently it had something to do with genes and their tribe had them so.. well, now he had to believe there were other ones. "Have you met any other packs of shifters?" That would have been the coolest thing ever. She'd been.. well, he had no idea where she'd been, but she'd been a lot farther away from the reservation than him and that made her a very interesting person who obviously needed to be pestered with questions. (Okay, so, that's not actually how it was going in Seth's mind -- well, the interesting person part was, but.. he was curious.)
Aaand, he was more curious, the more she talked. Her house? This was-- well, that was one mystery solved. But how, when, what? "Yours? How old are you?" He'd figured that she was older than him and that's why he didn't remember her ever living there. She definitely looked older than him (not that that said much), closer to the other shifters in the pack's age- but that wasn't nearly old enough for this old place to have been where she grew up.
She turned around to go inside and he stood there for a second before deciding to follow her. (She didn't say not to... she didn't sat he could either..He'd just ask before he actually went inside.) "Okay." Seth, being Seth, didn't think a whole lot of the blood stains. Blood stained wood. He was pretty sure there was some on their porch from the time he tried to jump up all the steps and scraped his knee. (He was little. It had sounded like a very doable idea at the time.) "If you ever need help finding anything or something, you can ask me. I'm sure you'll get used to it soon."

Seth was quiet the inquisitive child. That wasn’t a bad thing. Having met Paul though, Keisha wondered how the kid dealt with the older shifter’s temper all day. Smiling, she answered his question about meeting other packs. “Well, yeah I have. There are plenty of packs outside of La Push, all of them with different characteristics depending on where they live in the world. I have my own pack, as a matter of fact. Though many of them aren’t here,” she answered him with a shrug. Her pack knew where she was and how to find her. It was their choice though, on if they wanted to stay where they were, or if they needed (or wanted) to find a new life in La Push with her. Truthfully, she didn’t care. Keisha wasn’t a strict alpha, but her ties in loyalty and family ran deep within her. Wherever her pack may be spread, she was always ready to run to their aid whenever it was called upon.
Keisha had mentioned her house without really think much of the matter. Well, well, the kid was pretty smart. “You made that connection quicker then Paul did,” she said with a small smirk. She didn’t answer the question of age yet, instead walking up to her front door. Though she was standing at the door of her home, the younger boy didn’t seem like he was in any rush to leave. She looked at him as he continued, saying he would help her get accustomed. She let out a small chuckle and shook her head. “I’m almost 200 years old, kid. I look pretty good for my age though if I do say so myself,” she answered with a bright smile. She assumed that he knew the ability to phase into a wolf stopped the ageing process the long you were as a wolf. She had always figured it to be some account of dog years, but never fully understood why it happened.
Looking at the kid behind her, Keisha realized he wasn’t about to leave just yet. She signed and rolled her eyes at the door. So much for her relaxing day. Though she didn’t really mind all that much. Probably because Seth here was the first person she’d met in Forks that hadn’t given her any kind of crap for being here as a new pack. She liked that, and the fact that he was a cute little kid. Though he was an inquisitive kid, Keisha decided it would be better to get most of the questions out of the way now. She plopped down on her front porch and gave Seth a smile. “Sit with me, chat a bit. The times have changed so much, and I’m afraid I’m losing my touch in keeping up with them,” she said with a smile, motioning for Seth to sit down with her. It would be nice to sit and talk to someone who wasn’t out to get her. Pretty much every encounter she had had with anyone that week had gone that way. She made a mental note to introduce Pete and Seth to one another. They were almost one in the same person, and would probably get along pretty well. Keisha smiled and let out a short laugh. “What else do you want to know kid?” she asked lightly. “You’ve probably been stuck on the rez for way too long. You need to go out and see the world! …On second thought, don’t tell Paul or your other pack members I told you that, I’ll probably get chewed out for it.” She laughed lightly. Truth be told, she probably would if they got wind of it. But Keisha liked that advice. Traveling was probably the best thing that ever happened to her. It opened to her to a lot of opportunities that she wouldn’t have had if she stayed here on the reservation.

Seth listened as Keisha explained about the different packs..and how they were all different.. and how she'd seen some. You'd think, now that he'd been a shifter for a while, other shifters wouldn't amaze him so much but... nope, finding out there were other packs out there was almost as exciting as finding out there was a pack right here. "Wow, that's so cool." Then he realized something else. "Your pack? You're the alpha?" It wasn't that he was surprised she was an alpha because he didn't think she could be one, or anything, it was just- well, that made her a whole lot cooler. "Why aren't they here? Where are they?" The pack concept was a close knit thing in La Push.. not that they all got along and enjoyed being with each other all the time or anything..but they were always around and they could reach any of them when they needed to. He'd never even thought about splitting up before.
“You made that connection quicker then Paul did" Yeah, well, Paul was probably too busy trying to get her to leave or well...honestly, Seth didn't know much about how Paul's encounter with Keisha went- just that Paul wasn't happy with the results (which-- he thought meant she won-- but thinking that around Paul, yeah, he was lucky to be alive right now). "You shouldn't tell him that." He laughed. No, it was definitely better that they kept that to themselves (for as long as possible anyway), though Seth was proud he'd made the connection. He had no reason not to believe that she'd lived here (I mean, okay, so, he'd never seen her and she didn't look like she was from here and Paul said-- but Seth believed that people usually told the truth. Yep, that was it.) Okay, so, maybe he was a little skeptical about some things. "You're not two-hundred!" There was no way that was possible. He knew that they aged slower than people did, but they'd pretty much told him the need to know basics and... what to do when a two hundred year old female alpha shows up saying she used to live here- yeup, Sam skipped that chapter completely.
She invited him to join her and Seth took a seat happily. “What else do you want to know kid?” Well that was a whole big can of worms to open up. Seth was kind of known for having a lot of questions. Paul had definitely been wrong about her. "Are you really almost two hundred?" Okay, he just-- he had to ask. Now he was done with that topic. Really. "Um.. why'd you leave?" It didn't seem like a problematic question, he just couldn't imagine anyone in La Push just getting up one day and deciding to move. They didn't do that. Not that traveling a little didn't sound like it would be nice. "I won't tell!" he agreed hastily, and then actually responded to what she said. "I like it here." There was no reason not to. "But it would be nice to see somewhere else too." Maybe he'd vacation when he was older, maybe. That wouldn't be such a bad idea. Suddenly he had a whole lot more questions. "What's it like-- travelling around? Where's your favorite place that you've been?"

They were strange beings themselves, with powers that shouldn’t have been anywhere near possible. I mean come on. Who the hell wouldn’t want to change their shape into a giant wolf whenever they wanted? Or have ridiculously fast regenerative abilities? Honestly, it was one of the coolest things on the face of the planet. Something that should have only been real in science fiction. Yet, here the two of them were… living it every day. A little less than two hundred years of living it on her end, and a couple on his. They were probably modern science’s dream. But they were also much too slick and well protected to do much else. She smiled at Seth’s enthusiasm. “Yes, I am. Being alpha of a pack is a great deal of responsibility,” |
she said, shaking her head slightly. “Many of my pack isn’t here because I told them that they had a choice. I may be an alpha, but I let my pack mates choose whether the wanted to come here with me or stay in their homes. All were left with an open door that if they ever wanted to join us, they were welcome.” She explained it with a smile. Her pack, though it was rightfully hers, was very much so free to do what they pleased. In return for this freedom, Keisha dealt firmly with those who took it to much for granted. The pack was close knit, even with the distance, and they had bonds stronger than the worlds apart. It was strange, but it worked. She laughed lightly at his retort. Paul had been… well, he had been quite the welcoming committee. Though she definitely did have a bit of fun toying with him. He wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, but it was more a matter that he let his anger get a hold of him. Keisha had taught herself to be calm and cool under confrontation. Of course though, Paul was the exact opposite. He seemed to like to fly off the handle, as was very obvious with her taunts and quick shots at him. It was a terrible thing for her to say, of course, but then again, he hadn’t been nice to her either. An eye for an eye shall they say? Keisha chuckled again slightly. “Oh, don’t worry, I won’t be letting him on any time soon,” she answered with a smile. Of course, she wasn’t going to. The next time they happened to bump into each other wouldn’t be nearly as fun as their first one if she did. Yeah, she was definitely a terrible person for thinking that. And probably going to Hell for it too… That was of course, once she finally kicked the bucket. And there was no telling when that would be now. Speaking of… she laughed again. Seth’s reaction to her age was sweet, and very expectable. Especially given that she did look extraordinarily young for her age. Of course, the shifter thing was to thank for that. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” she responded, continuing to smile at Seth. The whole age thing really did tend to throw other shifters off. Especially pups. Any shifter younger than a couple years she classified as a pup. It wasn’t necessarily to be degrading, more affectionate than anything else. Keisha was fond of pups actually. They had a lot to learn, and were still a little wet behind the years more often than not. Seth was a perfect example. He had the whole world as his oyster, and so much potential to be a great wolf when he figured everything off. She had a soft spot for pups. Probably because she was robbed of her ability to have kids. So any kind of newly born shifter she came across was immediately taken under her wing. To be honest, Seth was probably going to be no different. It was the whole motherly instinct thing. But the door would always be open for him. Keisha watched as he plopped himself down next to her. She smiled and put her head in her hand, waiting for the first of, what she figured would be, many questions. Smiling as he asked about her age again. “Yes, I’m really almost two hundred. I have a birth certificate inside that can prove it,” she said with a smile. Well what would have been the equivalent of a birth certificate back in 1812. All the same, it was upstairs and right where it had been left in her parent’s dresser. At his next question she glanced past him, at the blood stains on the porch again, and her smiled faltered momentarily. “Why I left was quite the complex situation, one you’ll most likely come to know in full with time,” she started, an air of a time long gone in her voice, and she looked back at him. “My parents were killed when my brother and I were little, we stayed for a little while then left,” she answered easily, throwing a smile back at him. It was the bare minimum, but just enough for him to get the jist of what had gone on. Like she had said, he would learn more about it as time went on. Keisha had a feeling this wouldn’t be the last she saw of him. She laughed as he spoke about traveling. “If you get the opportunity to see the world, jump on it,” she encouraged. It was still probably the best decision and experience of her life. “Traveling is great. You get all the freedom in the world, you can do whatever you want, and every day is an adventure. You’ll always find something new and exciting. It’s good for growing pups, like yourself. My favorite place? Hmm. That’s most definitely going to be Romania. The land there is beautiful, and the city of Bucharest is… well, it’s magnificent. And the stories there… about shifters like us and leeches… the entire city was built on these stories,” she responded, enthusiasm hanging in her voice. Keisha could go on and on about that place. She had spent much of the time they traveled there during various spans of time. That’s also where she had met her imprint. But that was certainly a different story. Just happened that it took place in her all time favorite locations. Stupid Fate. Everything he was finding out from Keisha was just amazing. Sure, he knew the shifter history and how packs work, but he'd been taught everything by people who resented their powers and what they were, and Keisha seemed to embrace it as much as he did. She had an entirely different way of running her pack that he'd never even thought about. Of course, it wasn't anything he needed to be thinking about. Seth would never have been able to be an alpha. He was, and very willing to admit it, a follower and not a leader. And he didn't see anything wrong with that. People needed to be good followers. If everyone tried to be a leader then you'd end up with the rest of Sam's pack a very disorganized and chaotic pack where people didn't get along with one another. Since Keisha's pack traveled around all the time, he could understand why she gave people the option to stay or go. It made sense. "That's nice of you." Full sincerity. If Sam came out tomorrow and told them they were all moving, Seth could only imagine the uproar. "So are all the people in your pack from different places? Are there a lot of them? More than us?" He wanted to know everything. "Are you going to stay here now.. or are you just passing through?"
The way Paul had been talking about it, it sounded like she was staying, but it was hard to imagine why anyone who'd seen so much of the world and could live wherever they wanted would come to some forest in the middle of Washington. Especially since it was a place that already had so many shifters and vampires which, unless she thought very differently than all the shifters he knew, was a pretty big turn off. He didn't have a problem with her staying though, of course. Actually he hoped they would stick around for at least a while. Even if it would put Paul in a worse mood than usual. “Oh, don’t worry, I won’t be letting him on any time soon." He grinned back at her. Eventually, Paul would find out, because of the whole pack mind reading and the fact he couldn't keep things from him for long, but until that happened, it was going to be his and Keisha's secret.
Wow.. After hearing it three times, Seth was starting to believe the 'two hundred years old' thing. "I believe you! Just.. whoa.. What was it like here in the 1800s??" That was definitely something he couldn't find out from any of other other shifters (he was pretty sure none of them were that old-- then again, anything was possible). He nodded when she explained why she and her brother left. He had a lot more questions, but he was able to get the hint she didn't really want to talk about that."I'm sorry." It was sort of just the standard response to those kinds of things, even though he didn't understand it, because nobody wanted pity and he obviously hadn't killed anyone two hundred year ago. His dad had died recently, so, he understood what it was like to an extent. He didn't need to have heard her thoughts to know that his own sister would have made the same decision.
And while he would have followed her if that did happen then, if he hadn't wanted to see the world already, she'd definitely sold him on the idea. While Seth wasn't longing to run away and go on an adventure (life here usually gave him plenty to do) going something new and exotic didn't sound unappealing. In fact- it sounded like a lot of fun. The place she described sounded like a place in books, that wasn't supposed to exist... like them. It sounded like the perfect place for people like them. "That sounds amazing! I want to see it!" Yeah, so much for 'eh when it happens, if it happens, it happens.' He was really excited now. It was hard now to be, just because she sounded like it had been so exciting. He kept himself from asking more questions, because he could have, all day, but it only seemed fair she had a turn to say what she wanted or ask him about things.. not that there was anything he thought he knew that she wouldn't have.

Seth’s enthusiasm was very admirable. And it was starting to catch. What otherwise would have been a slow and boring day was suddenly turning into something very exciting. She had a feeling Seth would keep her on her toes for as long as she let him. Honestly, she was fine with that. She liked telling her story, especially to pups. Generally they were eager to hear, but some not so much. Seth just happened to be one of those ones who were definitely very intrigued by what they were and how they coexisted in nature. Keisha couldn’t blame him in the slightest. She had been a lot like that when she was little. Her father’s lineage always made her wonder. The stories he told of the old tribe, how they as shifters came to be. It fascinated her. And it very obviously fascinated Seth. It also seemed to fascinate him as to how they’ve adapted for so long. Smiling she spoke without a hitch. “Not so much nice as just trying to be fair,” |
she said with modest sincerity. “It’s a lot to ask of a person to just pick up and leave like that, especially in a home they’ve only ever known. Those who did travel tended to have dark pasts, and were looking for a new beginning,” she continued to explain. Blatantly true. Packs based themselves on their territory. They had none before. She could only imagine the issues it would cause, especially with Paul in the pack, if the other Alpha here said they were all leaving. Keisha and Pete themselves had had it rough with their parents dying. Devon was a bottomed out omega who had been tormented and lost her family as well. Many other travelers had similar stories. In truth it seemed to be the bonding factor in her pack. Of course, they all drew strength from the past they came from, and none (Devon aside sometimes) showed no remorse, just the want to move on from where they had been. She shrugged in response. Truthfully, her pack was from everywhere. “Yes they are,” she said slowly, leaning back to rest herself on her hands. “We’re from almost anywhere you can think of. Canada, other States, even places in Europe, like Italy, Spain, and Britain.” She smiled and shrugged at his second question. “It depends sometimes. Some years we are great in number, others very little. Right now we have a good amount, even maybe to your pack… maybe a gain on you guys by one or two. But not all of them are here either,” she answered throwing a playful competitive smile at him. Keisha couldn’t help but laugh when he asked if they were staying or going. “I’m sure Paul would love it if I were to pack up everyone and keep moving, but that isn’t going to happen. We plan to put some roots down here. It was once my home, and it will be again,” she said, still chuckling lightly to herself. Truthfully, she wasn’t entirely sure why she had been pulled so strongly to come back here. She had just woke one day, and knew that they had to make the journey back home. And that was weird, even for Keisha. She had learned very quickly to trust her instincts, especially with trying to hunt down the vampire that killed her parents. But her instincts generally didn’t just come up with a plan for her over night like that. She wondered if there was something else, something she was missing that brought her back here. Honestly, she hadn’t thought much more about when she had returned home, but now that it was brought up again in her mind, she didn’t understand what exactly it meant. Generally her feelings were never anything good. So either this was going to get completely insane very quickly, or it would just end up killing her in the process. Needless-to-say, either way, it wouldn’t be ending well at all. Looking out and into the forest, she thought for a moment. What was it like in the 1800’s? Well, it was a lot different from what it was now. “Well, back when I was little, it was a lot smaller,” she answered with a short laugh. “Actually, the reservation itself, didn’t exist until I was… 77. Before then the people just lived on the territory. My house used to be on the outer most part of the land, but when the reservation was given boundaries, it fell short, which is why I’m kind of in the middle of nowhere now,” she said, laughing and shrugged. “We used to go out and hunt for own food back then… we ate a lot of seal actually. It used to be the tribe’s thing when I was young. Shops generally didn’t exist… unless it was out of someone’s home, and you had something to trade for what you wanted,” she continued. Keisha then went silent, looking thoughtful for a moment. “My mother was a white English woman that had moved near the area with her family. She had met my father at First Beach actually,” she said with a small smile at Seth. “Back then, it was frowned upon to mix with the pale faces for anything more than trade, which is why my father built the house all the way out here. It was still on the land, but far enough away so that he and my mother wouldn’t be bothered.” Keisha’s smile softened at the thought of her parents. She missed them. Some days more than others. But being back home and talking about it… it was nice, and brought back memories she didn’t even know she still had. The small apology made her give Seth a warm smile. “Thanks, kiddo,” she answered, voice soft and gentle. His enthusiasm for traveling made her laugh. Seth was a very gun-ho little kid, something that would definitely get him on a great adventure one day. He was happy just to be a kid, and do what kids did. Keisha had missed out on that part of her life, so she was overjoyed to see someone who enjoyed it and lived it for every day they lived. “I have a feeling you will see it someday,” she answered him clearly amused. “Honestly, I have a feeling you would set out and see the entire world!” She couldn’t help but fall in love with the pup. He was so enthusiastic, so inquisitive about life and the world around him. Seth reminded her a lot of Pete when he was younger. So alive and full of a brilliant little fire. “You’re gonna go far, little one, you really are,” she said, smiling at him as she would her own brother. “Just don’t let anyone tell you otherwise or try to take that away from you, alright? The world needs more kids like you,” Keisha said, reaching over and rustling up his hair. She was actually a little surprised with herself, how attached she had gotten to him in the past moments. And to think, she’d only just met him. Seth just seemed to have a natural way of rubbing off on someone if they let him. She smiled at him. “So tell me Seth, what do you do for fun around here?” she asked, knowing well even 200 years ago she had been running out of things she found interesting. Keisha also then added as an afterthought, “And how do you put up with Paul’s thoughts on a daily basis?” [/div] ~:~ HOW MANY WORDS:: 1,265 ~:~ JUST A FEW NOTES:: tis a long one for you xD ~:~ STUCK IN MY HEAD:: DIE YOUNG~~ Ke$ha

to the beat of the drum... template by keisha~! Even though she didn't think so, Seth still thought it was nice she'd given people the option to stay or go. Though he'd be a little sad to leave La Push if they ever had to move, he'd be excited abut the adventures waiting for them wherever they went. And yes, he just expected that whatever happened as long as it was somewhere else it would be a big exciting adventure. After Keisha's stories you couldn't really blame him. She didn't elaborate much on how her pack came together, but dark pasts made him think of things from movies. Keisha's parents got killed and she and her brother ran away. They traveled the word for two hundred years..and then they came back..I mean.. it was like the Lion King! Therefor, all these people must be interesting. He couldn't associate such colorfulness with anyone here, even though they clearly had enough drama for their own four part obnoxiously long detailed saga called Twilight ha I'm so funny.
According to Keisha, there were shifters all over the world, though he guessed from how she was talking that their pack was one of the larger ones. And apparently so was hers. Paul might not be happy about the confirmation Keisha wasn't going to be leaving any time soon, but Seth was. He liked talking to her, and her staying meant that they could be friends. Plus, there were the other shifters who'd come with her too. "That's great! He'll come around.. um, eventually. Have you met anyone else yet?" Seth was curious if she had. If she hadn't, well, things could only get better than how they'd gone with Paul. Seth would gladly introduce her to Jared and Jacob and the other shifters who he thought she might get along with. Leah would probably be happy to find out that there were other girls. Yeup, everyone was going to be happy and get along now. Seth's funny.
Keisha, on the other hand, Keisha officially told the best stories of anyone he knew. "Wow!" He couldn't help it. Despite the fact that he'd learned about life back then and knew a lot of what Keisha was telling him, hearing it from someone who'd actually been there was amazing. He tried to imagine hunting seals and shopping in people's houses. It was just so different from how things were now. It was so cool. But Seth was glad they'd made the changes they had since the 1800s too. He didn't think he'd like the idea of having to kill seals or any other animal if he wanted to eat. Of course, they still got killed. He just didn't have to see it..or do it.. If he had to kill them, he'd definitely be a vegetarian right now. Also, now it was okay to be friends with people who didn't look like it. Well, more okay than it was when Keisha was growing up apparently. The tribe was still pretty close knit and traditional. I mean, Seth was as proud as anyone when it came to their heritage, he thought they were pretty special, but he didn't have anything against Keisha or anyone who did anything like her father did. (Big surprise since yanno, Seth clearly had lots of problems with lots of people) I mean.. Jake was in the situation, it was no big deal. "Well, I guess it worked out..now..because you have this whole big place." I mean, had her house been "technically" on their territory there probably would have been a sliight problem. But, it wasn't. It was in the empty forest that they just pretended was there's because nobody was there. But there were a lot of trees, more than enough to share.
Hearing Keisha say that she thought he'd set out and see the world made him beam. Of course, she knew all about it. If she thought he could do it, then he could. Without a doubt. He was a little surprised because she didn't know much about him but she was being so nice (I mean, c'mon, the guys and his sister were all like shut up and Keisha was all like -ruffles hair- it was kind of a nice experience). He nodded quickly when she told him not to let anyone say otherwise. "Thanks! I wont!" And then she started asking him questions about things and he got even more exciting.
Okay, so, maybe there was something he knew that she didn't. Seth had definitely discovered the secret to getting along with Paul. "He's really not that bad. You just kind of have to.." He tried to think of the right word. Use your imagination.. Yeah, that was it, but that wasn't what he was going to say. "Not take him literally.. Figure out what he means by certain things." See, when you had really low standards for a person's kindness level, everything they do that wasn't outright unreasonably mean seemed like, really good sameritan worthy. So..that was the secret to getting along with Paul. Low expectations. And imagination. A lot of imagination. "It's hard at first but it gets easier."
He didn't have a paricular answer in mind for the other question. But he started talking and well that went on for a while. "We do all kinds of things for fun. Well, some of us more than others. The shifters mostly hang out at the beach or on the cliffs. Have you ever cliff dived? It's really fun. A lot of them have imprints, so they're usually hanging out. It's not that exciting though because they don't really do anything. Except sometimes we'll all go to someone's house and there'll be good food and we'll play card games and watch movies or something. By myself, I like biking.. and playing soccer. My friends and I used to go into the forest at night and play games too - they're mostly made up, but my favorite one's kind of like cops and robbers, just with more rules. Since the whole shifter thing though we don't play as much.. I always feel like I'm cheating."
Breathing? While Talking? Clearly overrated. That was basically the one thing about being a shifter that wasn't awesome. But it was okay. Because there were other things he could do now that he couldn't do before. "What kind of things do you like to do?" he asked curiously. I mean, she was two-hundred. She didn't look it, and she didn't really act it. He didn't see her the same way he saw other older people. He couldn't see her hanging out with them, sitting around and doing... old people things.. but maybe she was too old to find his kind of fun too. He knew a lot of people found the area boring and there really wasn't a lot to do as far as going places because of how small it is and how they hadn't built a lot of things that were in other cities, but Seth was good at entertaining himself so he never had any problems finding things to do.
